At Texas A&M next year. Do you feel good about

Apr 5, 2018, 7:49 PM

a win? For some unknown reason I have started getting nervous. We have got to win this game, and I hope we do. Give me some encouragement.

Thanks

it’s one of the few we could lose and still make playoffs

Apr 5, 2018, 8:25 PM

Far more important to win conference and coots

Too deep

Apr 5, 2018, 8:39 PM

I live here in Texas, it will be 95-105. Hoping for a night game, but we are so deeeeep we can sub in and out. The DL can sub every other series with no drop off. We win by 2 TD’s

Re: Too deep

Apr 6, 2018, 9:24 AM

95-105? That's only a 10 point difference. No one could possibly score that much on our D! ??

Yes, our team will be MUCH better prepared for an early

season win. Their coach has very little discipline.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Tough environment but..........

Apr 5, 2018, 8:42 PM

that’s about it. They’ve suffered a lot of losses, are not very deep and they have Jimbo as their coach!

I am more worried about how I am going to pay for the trip than I am winning the game. We got this!

Here you go.

QB - Nick Starkel, 60% comp, 1700 yds, 14 TD’s, 6 unt.
WR’s- 3 Freshmen
TE - Soph

My thoughts, Jim Brown & Walter Payton better be their RB’s or they’re in trouble.

Defense has good experience but RCB & SS are Freshman.

Home of the 12th man is a great environment, but if we play to our standard, they’re gonna need to be Home of the 20th man.

The thing about Nick Starkel. Nick Starkel played as a HS freshman at Southlake, Tx. That’s right next door to me. If I drive out the front of my neighbor I’m in Southlake. Southlake is a TX football powerhouse and has been so for about 20 years. Alabama has had at least 2 Southlake QB’s, the ESPN commentator McKelwhatever is one of them. Starkel left Southlake and transferred to Liberty Christian. It’s nearby, 20 mins drive, private school. Liberty Christian is nowhereville on the Tx football map. That’s not a move that a hard nosed competitor makes.

Jimbo couldn’t stop us with criminole players and he won’t stop us this year either.

That’s a lot of data. Let me make it easier.

The coots played them close and it took a 4th quarter drive to beat them. We are good.

I Don't See Why

They are less talented than FSU.

Tough game but Tigers are better team & proven on road.***

Not to worry, they'll make the same mistake that

Apr 6, 2018, 12:20 PM

Oklahoma and Ohio State made in terms of their conferences and lineage.

Texas A&M will be all 'we're in the SEC!'.

And as usual, Dabo and Brent and company will show them, that counts for exactly diick.

Tigers 35-10

next...

Re: At Texas A&M next year. Do you feel good about

They are a LOT less talented than FSU, and they lost their top 2 wideouts - Christian Kirk (who was also by a mile their best player) and their deep threat, Damien Ratley. They lost their starting RB, Keith Ford, though he was getting pushed (and probably passed, this year) by Trayveon Williams.

QB is going to be an issue for them. Big-time. Nick Starkel and Kellen Mond are their 2 QB's. Mond is inaccurate and made some mind-boggling decisions with the ball but he was very athletic. Starkel is a statue but is very accurate. I'd expect Starkel to emerge as the starter in Jimbo's system...but again, who does he throw to?

Keep in mind, also, that Jimbo's system is COMPLICATED. Very pro-style with all the reads, adjustments, and line calls of an NFL system. It's supposed to have an answer for everything but the problem is, young guys always seem to struggle with it. They will see us in Week 2 of this new, very complex system Jimbo has. Expect misfires. FSU always had a ton of misfires even with veteran QB's under center.

They also lost 7 of 11 starters on D...and they weren't great on D to begin with. (78th nationally, allowing 408.3ypg). By way of comparison...we return 9 of 11 starters off what was the nation's 4th-ranked defense.

If this wasn't Texas A&M, with likely 85,000 yelling Aggie fans in the stands, I'd favor Clemson by about three or four touchdowns. The 12th Man will slow us down some but they're going to have to play inspired football to keep us at bay for four quarters.

Re: At Texas A&M next year. Do you feel good about

Apr 6, 2018, 2:24 PM

Not much worry here, they have talent but not like most Jimbo teams, and Jimbo is not a developer he is a recruiter. I don't see them being dominant in his early years and Clemson will be properly prepared as always to beat anyone in the country. Our QB play will be the difference as we play a tough defense early in A&M, if we can't throw it then we're going to have an issue but in the end I don't see A&M especially with a young QB being able to move on us as they will have young receivers as well after losing veteran first round talents in Speedy Noil and Christian Kirk.
