John Simpson

Dec 21, 2015, 4:22 PM

How does everyone feel about our current chances with Simpson?

Back in the early summer I thought he was a Tiger lock. But now I get an uneasy feeling about him. I know he has listed his top three as Clemson, LSU, Florida, in no order. However, this one just feels strange to me. He hasn't listed the coots in his top three but it just feels like one of those where they wind-up with this guy. Kind of like the Donnell Stanley and Zack Bailey recruitments. I thought both of those guys "fit" the Clemson mold.

I would really like to see this guy in orange. Plus, Joyner is much more likely to come to Tiger Town if Big John came here before him.

What say you?

Really hope so. Coots are spouting off at the beak about how Muschump is gonna "own Dabo" when it comes to in-state recruiting.

Coots are always talking about "gonna"...

Unfortunately for them, "gonna" never happens. Remind them of that.

I don't have a clue. I have two grandsons that are 19 years old, and they change their minds like the wind changes directions.

Bailey maintained that he wanted to major in criminal justice. Is there a better place to learn about criminals than uscJr or columbia? He's sure to experience that first hand down there. Heck, all he's gotta do is spend time around Shameik Blackshear. And while Clemson does offer a sociology degree, I don't think we offer criminal justice as a major- though I could be wrong.

Not sure why you'd think that Donell Stanley would end up at Clemson. He took four visits to cootU and all indications appeared that he always favored them. Nonetheless, I don't recall seeing him out there making a difference. Perhaps he red-shirted or something but if he couldn't crack that depth chart then I find it really telling.

Did we actually, really miss out here? No. It certainly doesn't appear that way to me. I'd take Hyatt and Fruhmorgen any day of the week. Plus you've gotta be impressed with the progress of Maverick Morris. Falcinelli and Hearn are maturing in the wings as well. Not to mention our entire o-line made the All-Conference team.

Additionally, I wouldn't be worried because John Simpson wants to enjoy the recruiting process and look around. Nothing wrong with that. What folks should be emphasizing is that Clemson did make his top three list rather than getting weak in the knees cause he hasn't made a decision yet. I seriously think folks are gonna be surprised by the play of current commit Sean Pollard. Got a chance to see him at The Opening and he handled his own against some tough competition.

To answer your question, 'What say you,' I say chill- it'll all work itself out.

Rough track record at that school recently, correct?

Sitting here with one of his classmates. He is leaning strongly toward Clemson.

Sounds good. He would never have regrets choosing Clemson.

From what I remember, he's a gamecock fan but they botched his recruitment and that steered him to Clemson. We shall see. I wouldn't be surprised either way.

Of corse, I would like it, better, if he would go ahead and commit to us.
