Joe Lunardi and ESPN

Mar 10, 2014, 6:30 PM

have far too much influence concerning the selection of teams for the NCAA tournament. Afraid we will see the same thing with ESPN and the 4-team football playoff.

What kind of influence do they have?***

I have to say... since CBS has the TV rights...

Mar 10, 2014, 6:58 PM [ in reply to What kind of influence do they have?*** ]

pretty sure ESPN has no say... I don't think a single person in the room says "what did Lunardi have"...

I still feel like, whether you agree with the selection nof your team or not, or even with the process... it's probably not tainted.

"I've been working since I was 15 continually until now. I worked 40 hours a week at 15, when it wasn't even legal for 15 year olds to work that many hours."

I would be interested to hear the OP's take

Mar 10, 2014, 7:02 PM

on a more specific and detailed level.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

you know the rules here...

Mar 10, 2014, 7:07 PM

Although I disagree with the call at the end of the Pitt game, I don't think it was part of a consipiracty against Clemson. I think the officials just got it wrong.

But you know how this works...

It's ESPN's fault, it's a conspiracy, ACC officials are on the take from UNC and Duke, etc....

I especially like disdain for ESPN... especially since they allow every one of us to pretty much watch unlimited sports. How many of these "ESPN haters" are really gonna stop watching the one entity that has virtually allowed us to watch every sporting event possible?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Lunardi has no influence, at all

Mar 10, 2014, 7:37 PM

If so, you would think he would be 100% in getting the tournament teams and seeds correct every year. Here's a thought...maybe he has a full time job and a lot of insight on how it all works, and is paid to do so.
