Strong character and good heart. I don't agree with many of his ideas and approaches, but he seems like a good person with best intentions.

Maybe go over to the lounge. Anyway, you said "president" goes into hospice. If you said "Jimmy Carter; philanthropist" goes into hospice care, my reply would have been different.
You made it political, and no matter what his situation; he was a terrible President.

He came in Cracker Barrel in Anderson about a decade ago. We were in the store area when he came in. It’s the only time in my life I’ve been a little star struck. I’ve been around lots of pro athletes , Michael Jordan, etc, and never thought a thing about it. But there was something’ about being around a former president. Hard to explain.

I was on a commercial flight probably thirty years ago and he walked around the plane and shook everyone's hands. One assumes it is a once in a lifetime moment!

Yeah it’s pretty cool. Our story was pretty funny. Our friends said “here comes Jimmy Carter”. I said “cool, I hope he has the Easter Bunny with him”. Well, it wasn’t the Easter bunny. Lol.

before that he was a Ga Tech engineering student.
Interesting history as one of the first Nuclear sub engineers working under the father of the nuclear Navy, Admiral Rickover, who sent him to handle a crisis at a nuclear plant in Canada. That is where Carter and his shipmates were exposed to radiation levels a thousand times higher than what is now considered safe. He and his team absorbed a year’s worth of radiation in that 90 seconds.
Considering that, it is amazing that he lived to 98.
