now, not so much. First Class Halt was pretty #### close to work when I went into the office every day, but they are now not convenient at all. A car service place should work on Saturday.

Only takes 20 minutes with a phone rep in India, and then setting an appointment time. Then drive to the dealership. Wait only 1.5-2 hours. FREE!!!!
Which....is why I pay $70 at the quick lube place down the street, that's like your place. Saves $$$ in the long run.

They're not exactly pulling lube techs from the Top Gun mechanic schools. Mebbe you want them stripping your oil pan drain, leaving off the crimp washer, or throwing in the wrong weight oil because numbers are hard, but not me brother.
I get that dealerships are ripoffs (mostly), but at least find a decent independent mechanic near you to do it.
Here's the kind of top notch service you can get at a quick lube place. https://jalopnik.com/lazy-idiots-at-lube-shop-cut-hole-in-audi-s4s-aero-pan-1748394648

Owner apologized and comped the service, and the next one. Kept my business, ONLY because I noticed the low oil light didn't go off before I left the parking lot. He would have bought an engine if I got on the road.

Yeah, but that happens with anything. You can go to a restaurant for 25 years and get a great meal and top-notch service every single time... then one night it's a cluster. I do have some friends with cars they trust to nobody. Russ has a 1974 TR6 he bought new and has always done all the work himself... he's a hardcore gearhead. Took it up 276 to Brevard just a few months ago, it's still a monster in the curves. Bob has a '69 Vette, fully restored and all matching serial numbers... his mechanic is the only guy he lets touch it. But for the other 99.9% of cars on the road, it doesn't matter who changes the oil...

If I was a complete idiot and didn’t know a thing about cars and how the work, I might worry. But I am quite capable of driving my car after they change the oil and being able to determine if they f’d something up. And that is all I really need them for is an oil and filter. Everything else they try to sell me I do on my own.
