Jeff Scott to OC and the call to Bentley
Nov 30, 2014, 9:51 PM

Even though it is being discounted. You'd have to think that the first call for QB Coach went to Bentley. Jeff worked for Bobby as PC's WR coach for a year. Assuming that was a positive experience - the two would have an established working relationship. Jeff would incorporate what he has learned from Chad and Bobby could color it with ideas picked up from Gus.
Only fly in the ointment on this - I could see Bentley only agreeing to come if he receives some type of elevated status such as Co-OC or Asst Head Coach.
We'll see.

Bentley is a job hopper. I hope we stay away from that guy.***

Sounds good to me. Scott may be great, but in-house hiring scares me. Take a top guy from a top program, and pay him the money we need to. Anything less, and we are going to start losing recruits. Pray god we don't try and do this on the cheap.

All recruits that know Jeff, know that he was a HS championship coach, and he had worked under Chad for over 4 years. And they also know that Jeff's dad was a National Championship OC. All will believe that Jeff knows what to do. But so do I!!!

He will, and you can bet on that, and hopefully that .3 mil Morris was getting to put him at a salary hard to match and hard to walk away from. I think that stick around guy would be even stickier, and more loyal!!!

I don't think we need to hire Auburn's castoffs. The tone of this scares the he## out of me.

Just checked Auburn's website and Bentley isn't listed with the other coaches.

Bentley has been at Auburn for less than a year so its doubtful

he was already fired, unless he was a total f up. Malzhan is a friend of his and gave him the job there of "offensive analysist", whatever that is. He would not have resigned unless he as already been offered a better job. Wouldn't be suuprised to see him here this week.

was hired at Auburn largely because of his contacts in and around the Byrnes HS program.
I don't know if he managed to produce any recruits from the area, but I shouldn't think Clemson would require additional help in recruiting any part of the Upstate.

Streeter will stay here longer and he is young too. Can relate to younger players. plus he is a ex tiger qb.
