Serious question -
I remember when JL was an excellent recruiter and coach - always had talent and the teams were always competitive, etc. Now that's all gone way down. We could expect a serious chance to go to Omaha every year.
What's the problem? Him losing interest? The lack of good assistant coaches? It sure can't be our facilities given all the improvements in recent years to the baseball complex.
What's happened to/with him?

If you ask people in the inner circle of baseball in SC and GA...most of them are goin to tell you Jack has burned ALOT of bridges with coaches and scouts with his pompass attitude. I could name you 10 people right now that I'm friends with that are either a coach, scout or parent and they would all tell you the same thing. Lecroy has tried hard to right this and has gotten a few but it's just too late.

Totally agree. Jack has probably done all he can do at this point. You must give him credit for what he has done at Clemson and the quality of the assistants that he has had but I think he gets another year or two and he will be under a tremendous amount of pressure to step down. That is if he cannot get this thing turned around. It does not look good though.

Not sure he was ever a good coach but he had excellent assistants.

I don't think he was ever a good recruiter either, but he had amazing recruiters working for him. I'm not convinced he's ever been more than an average coach.

top flight asst. coaches have moved on to head coaching jobs. Also recruiting has dropped and that his job. That being said, he is hard headed and fundamentals have slipped.
