Leggett's recruiting

I have a good friend who is also a Clemson graduate, and a strong supporter of Sumter P15's baseball. He told me this, that former P15's coach Wallie Jones recognized that Montgomery was a special pitcher, and he wrote both Leggett and Tanner a letter telling them about Montgomery. My friend said Tanner recruited Montgomery, and Leggett sent him an application to his baseball camp. To top all that off, I understand Montgomery comes from a Clemson family and more than likely would have come to Clemson if Leggett would have recruited him.

Better check again #### Tracy. Our first 3 pitchers last night were from sc. And lecroy has made sc a priority in recruiting. Check this years and next years classes

His problem is that the best ones in this state want to play for a winner, and that is not Clemson. 19 out of 26 and 9 out of last 11 says it all. Clemson can't even win in the ACC much less a national championship. Been time for him to go.

Pitcher who won the 2nd game for William & Mary wanted to come to Clemson but Leggett did not recruit him, told by someone in the know at Clemson.

I still think Jack is one of the best coaches in Clemson history, regardless of sport. Right now, he has the same problem Auburn has in football. It just so happens his arch rival has the best program in the country. Despite that, he still is one of the top baseball guys in the country.
