Jack, did you see the UNC/FAU game last night, if

Jun 4, 2013, 7:00 AM

so then remember how they got men on base when they needed base runners, they TOOK PITCHES AND LOOK FOR WALKS.

They DID NOT swing at 3-0 or 3-1 counts, they take pitches get walks and then allow someone to drive them in.

Well, you still have to have someone who can get clutch hits which Clemson had few of this year but the point is they made their players take pitches with 3-0 or 3-1 counts and at times 3-2.

Discipline, Coaching, Discipline, Coaching, Discipline, Coaching, Discipline, Coaching,

something our players had littler of and got no coaching on how to be

So its Jacks fault we faced pitchers that could find the

strike zone? :)

In all fairness, a lot of those pitches last night were not even close to being strikes, I don't think we would have swung at them either.

Our problem isn't really getting men on base, its getting them home after they get on base

Personally, I thought we took way too many pitches.

We took Way too many 3rd strikes....I can guarantee you that

Please god show me one instance of a clemson player swinging at a 3-0 pitch. Just one. And 3-1 is a great hitters count. Instead of you bogus argument why not just say what you are thinking. You don't like jack.

Re: Jack, did you see the UNC/FAU game last night, if

Jun 4, 2013, 8:22 AM

I can show you many times this year Clemson swinging at 3-0 counts and 3-1 when they were down by 2 or more runs and needing base runners

I agree when you're tied or up go for it but you can't hit 3 run home runs with no one on base

UNC proved that last night and won the game, that is one of the many reasons they are ranked #1

I like Jack ok, he's done a good job overall at Clemson, but the last 20 years he's not won but 2 ACC titles and he has been on top of his game or recruiting the last 5 years or so

Once again please show 1 time that a clemson player swung at a 3-0 pitch. Waiting patiently.

you want a reply, how do you think I'm going to show you that, if you watched or went to as many games I as id you would have seen it, most everyone else on here saw it

Re: Jack, did you see the UNC/FAU game last night, if

I was at or watched every home game and listened to every away game. I know for a fact we never swung at a 3-0 pitch

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'd like that change, green light the middle of the lineup.***

You said "I can show you"! It's selective memory. You want to harp on this because you saw patience at the plate with UNC and you remember about our season what fits your point of view. There have been just as many threads on here throughout the season arguing about being too patient and not letting the hitters loose. Everyone sees what they want to.

I have never seen Jack give a player the green light on 3-0. The next pitch is usually grooved right down the middle. Why not give your better hitters a chance to swing the bat? Also, with 2 strikes only one of our players chokes up and shortens their swing. Good things can happen when you put the ball in play.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

They weren't looking for walks, they know the strike zone.

Jun 4, 2013, 8:07 AM

In addition, good hitters should have green light on 3-0 most of the time and no hitter should ever be taking on 3-1. Your analyses is poor on this matter.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: They weren't looking for walks, they know the strike zone.

Jun 4, 2013, 8:19 AM

Clemson has few good hitters, so I'm right there in my thinking

since UNC is #1 in the nation, maybe Clemson should try and watch what they did and do and take a few of those 3-1 counts

yes you take a 3-1 count when you're down by two or more runs if you need base runners, you can't hit a 2 run home run with no one on base.

my analyses isn't poor, it's spot on as far as Clemson season went, we swung at to many bad pitches all year if watched many games

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You only take in little league on 3-1. This is big boy ball.***

Jun 4, 2013, 8:23 PM

you need to tell Fox that at UNC, he must not know to much about baseball since his teams was taking about everything from the 9th inning on when they were behind.

Then with by taking the walks they had men on base to drive in and win the game.

Big boy ball, not little league where you swing at everything just to be swing and making outs

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Jack, please NEVER coach like Mike Fox did

Jun 4, 2013, 8:24 AM

damage half your exhausted starting pitching staff's arms by putting them in with no rest.

If Jack ever coached like UNC's did, I'd be calling for his head.

Re: Jack, please NEVER coach like Mike Fox did

Jun 4, 2013, 8:27 AM

I thought Fox used those pitchers wrong also, but overall he's got UNC ranked #1 and he done a great job of both coaching and recruiting.

UNC plays lots of FR and So. also, we don't hear how young they are because they win big games.

Re: Jack, did you see the UNC/FAU game last night, if

Jun 4, 2013, 8:31 AM

That game is what the post season is all about. Those were two very good teams playing with a lot of heart. FAU totally blew 2 awesome chances to knock of the #1 team, and they choked both times.

Seriously, to hit a grand slam in the 9th to go up by 2 and then unc got the runs back only to go down again by 3 in the 12th, but to then come back again... what a roller coaster.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

totally agree,

Jun 4, 2013, 8:32 AM

if the umpires of the game last night had been as good as the coaches and players it would have been over in the 9th inning

those umps blow many calls, I hope they are not allowed to ump this weekend.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Clemson definitely needs to reexamine its hitting approach..

Jun 4, 2013, 8:32 AM

particularly with runners in scoring position. Jack also desperately needs to add some power to the line-up.

Re: Clemson definitely needs to reexamine its hitting approach..

Jun 4, 2013, 8:34 AM

that's all I'm saying also about the approach they take on hitting

I did not say it, but I agree, Jack needs to find some power hitters

Jun 4, 2013, 9:01 AM

What a TOTAL IDIOT. Have you ever watched a Clemson game? CLemson batters NEVER swing in a 3-0 count. Whether they should or not is open to reasonable debate. Perhaps they should. But, your suggestion that they do just shows your ignorance. Of course, you're probably one of the same idiots who ####### when they take a called third strike.
