This was a perfect storm situation with the new transfer rules being much more liberal, plus an assistant as popular as the head coach, plus the fact that he is going to a school that is of equal caliber and brand, if not more.

You need to rethink you use of "vertically challenged" as that is very offensive to drunk coots and their football team. "accomplished impaired" or "gravitationally different" are much better.
