As long as the individual carries himself in a manner consistent with decency and good nature . I don't expect perfection. Being normal and a positive member of society is good enough for me. Color or origin has never mattered to me.
That being said, racism isn't a one way street. I am not in favor of a lot of things that some races do but I accept them and understand diversity. I don't go marching down the street demanding every little thing get stopped or removed which offends me.
I do believe some people use history simply as leverage and an excuse to impose their will on folks whose vast majority are good people and trying to do the right thing. The NAACP certainly has no interest in diversity or acceptance. If they were, they would pick their battles reasonably instead of unilaterally finding anything which remotely offends them and demanding constantly. I find their actions itself prejudicial and should be dissolved.

is alive, I really don't hear that much about the NACCP. I tend to see alot of message board comments where if anything happens someone sarcastically says something about Al, Jesse or the NAACP, but overall it seems like they are a blip on the radar every once in awhile.

Statistically speaking, many more white people are shot by police than black people. I guess 99+% of police shootings are "good shoots." There are some people of all colors shot by police in which the shooting was not justified. My problem with the Rev. Al, the Rev. Jackson, and the NAACP is how they handle themselves when this happens. For whatever reason, they pick certain events to get up in arms about. They descend on a place and cause chaos, act like a bunch of idiots, stir up hate, and leave a wake of bitterness behind them. They do all that before they have ANY facts to go on. I would respect them if they waited for the facts to come out before they started their foolish trouble making. If they waited until the facts came out, I would demonstrate with them. After the facts come out, protest away. Until the investigation is complete, do not pass judgment. My other problem with the "civil rights leaders" is they have a history of being bought off. Large enough donations get them out of peoples hair. The Rev. Jackson even came to Paula Deans rescue. I seriously wonder if he did that out of the goodness of his heart. I doubt it. They are called "shake down artists" for a good reason.

don't resist, run, or attack the officer. Without doing any of these three, I doubt any of the shootings would have occurred. Seems simple to me!

He was indeed. He had his faults too. I wonder why the FBI did not unseal their investigation files on him as they were supposed to do. Dr. King was a man who did some great things. He was not a saint. There is much evidence that his personal life was nothing in line with his public image. I have no problem with that. I only mention it to point out that none of our historical figures, except Jesus Christ Himself, were perfect. You can celebrate the good a man did despite the fact that he did bad things as well.

MLK Is not a national treasury to me .I didn't l like him . I think that all streets named for him should be changed like all the streets that has confederate name's on
them .and any moments of him needs to be removed .like some southern things that the naacp wants to remove

My people were here 5 to 10 thousand years (who really knows when the Cherokee got here) before any of yall. Seriously, I do not call myself a Native American. I call myself an American. I am somewhat proud of my blood line, but I have a white wife and 99% of my friends are not Native Americans. Being around most N.A. people depresses me. They ##### and moan too much about why their failures are everyone else's fault. I see a lot of the same thing in the black community. There is a lot of blaming failures on other races of people. I find the whole "African American" label to aid in this self pity and division. We are Americans. It would help if the black community quit calling themselves "African Americans" and simply called themselves Americans. One of the most successful black businessmen I know says he is "black." He will tell you quickly "I am not an African American. I have never been to Africa and have no intention of ever going there."
