DW4 clearly should have won the Heisman in 2015. He carried the team on his back like Atlas holding the world on his shoulders. Only reason he didn't win was because of playing at Clemson. Finishing behind Derrick Henry (Alabama) and Christian McCaffrey (he did have great highlights) was an absolute voting tragedy.

In 2016, I truly understand why people voted for Lamar Jackson. But he had losses (one of them a head to head loss to DW4), Clemson was undefeated and the highway robbery from 2015 should have been rectified. But the hype for LJ was at such a level it could not be overcome.

I’ve got it the other way around. Here’s my take

I think McCaffrey probably deserved it in 15. Breaking Barry Sanders single season all purpose yardage record was no small feat. In 16, voters had made up their minds halfway through the season, LJ (as you pointed out) lost head to head and was nowhere near as successful over the final 3rd of the season. Then the Herculean effort of DW4 in the NCS, (herein is the biggest flaw of the Heisman) that was not taken into account. DW4 had NO competition for Heisman in 16 imho. Pretty much why I have written it off since.

DW got mugged in 2015.
LJ and Petrino running up the stats in 2016 was too much to overcome even though DW was better IMO. They basically handed LJ the trophy in September that year after trouncing powerhouses like Charlotte.

And, THAT is why he is the Clemson GOAT.

Breaking the Coot streak with a torn ACL alone is enough to make him Legendary.

That last drive against Bama to win the Natty is just piling on. :)

#### straight he deserved it! It truly is a shame he didn’t win. He got the one trophy that really matters though. People may forget former heisman winners but DW4 will always be a legend at Clemson
