say that Auburn should not be ranked.
Auburn is 6-3 and Clemson is 6-3
Auburn lost to Georgia 34-10 and Clemson lost to Georgia 10-3
Auburn lost to unranked Penn State 29-20 and Clemson lost to #25 Pitt 27-17
Auburn lost to #14 Texas AM 20-3 and Clemson lost to #19 NC State 27-21 in overtime.
I can understand why wer're not ranked and not saying we should be, but why the Hell is Auburn #13 and knocking on the door of top-10.
Maybe it has to do with who they have beaten.
Akron 60-10. That can't be why
Georgia State 34-24 come from behind. Nope not that one.
Alabama State 62-0. That can't be why.
LSU 24-19. A team with a losing record and has already fired their coach.
Arkansas 38-23. A team in free fall.
Ole Miss 31-20. A team ranked in the top 10 at the time.
They have better wins than we do among the last three, but 13th?

Yep, I also noticed this. I think I know the answer......SEC, SEC, SEC. As long as they have 5-6 ranked teams, they always lose to ranked teams and don't fall very far. Gee, how convenient.

What poll? AP 18 Coaches 20. Still too high but more in line. Iowa should be ahead of them. State should be too.

first playoff announcement, that's the poll they use on ABC, ESPN and CBS.
Now, the AP poll is usefull again after the final national championship just to see where the other teams finished as opposed to who won the title.

Yeah, but that was last week. Don't think they'll be there this week. CBS sports app is using 18.
If you look at head to head matchups of teams below them, who'd you pick to beat them?

I think the biggest difference that I have yet to see mentioned is that Auburn is perceived to be better than their preseason expectations.
That allows voters to see them in a positive light. Many of the voters don't follow anyone but their own team and the fact that they have declared Auburn "good" in their mind will allow them to leave them in higher regard than they deserve.
Clemson is and will stay a lesser team than what voters were expecting to see before the start of the season.
That means a lot of voters have written off Clemson and don't follow closely enough to continue to evaluate what they are seeing.
