going into the season he was all about the improvement in talent over 2 years ago. Last years team ran into a wall at the end of the season. This year needs to advance beyond 2013 to prove we haven't stagnated or backslid.

Why would they fire Jack just because He can't win the big games.Winning and losing just isn't that important but being a good sport and a cheerful, agreeable fan is where we are as a fanbase. Jack isn't going anywhere any time soon unless He decides to go. Although that is true of all of our Head coaches.

It's like a car with a ton of dents. That person is probably a bad driver.

DRad kept Danny Hall at Georgia Tech despite repeated failures in the post-season.
So yes. Jack's job is safe.

From his lack of success the last few years. If I were the AD, I just don't see anything at this point that could give him a reprieve from what (if I were AD) must and should happen. I would for the best interest of Clemson, retire Jack and pay him the rest of his contract in full. I would still let him come around and help out from time to time if he wanted to as long as he done things the way his replacement ask of him. Jack has been at Clemson for over two decades, and I wouldn't just kick him to the curb. Just saying.

They're not going to fire Jack (barring a total collapse).

They may recommend he make changes to his coaching staff or something, but I think he's safe.

You are probably right. But no coach should have the feeling that they won't fire me. That's when they get lazy and believe that 500 and slightly above will keep their job.

IMO, they could go zero for the remainder of the season and it would have no affect on his job.
I thought this team with so many starters from last year would have a very good chance for a super regional, but will be shocked if they make it.

we have a very good team that has not lived up to expectations, so far. we are not far off. the bullpen needs to step up before we can be considered above average. and that can happen. hopefully clate finds a groove tonight. he was lights out till b9 against the coots.
