But the problem ISN'T the freshmen. You can use that excuse all you want.
But what about the soft offensive linemen? And the defensive line that's being pushed around? Or the veteran linebackers who look lost?

We did not prepare well...... why not?

Sep 10, 2011, 9:02 PM

Who didnt prepare well?? The coaches, players.... who?

Doesn't matter who, even if the players are not preparing well then it's still a reflection on the coaches' ability to prepare the team. Makes you wonder what they're doing all week long.

why are people on Boyd? He has no blocking up front,

Sep 10, 2011, 9:10 PM

he ran for a TD today, threw for several more............ what the heck? Better than Parker did last year!!

Boyd got sacked six times I believe. Kyle looked better than Boyd at this point in the season. It was after the Auburn game is when Kyle stopped caring. If I was Dabo I would have put in Cole for one series just to see how he played. He looked good in the Troy game.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

are you serious?

Sep 10, 2011, 9:23 PM

Boyd was the man today. He won the game for us, without his play, we would have folded like a house of cards. There were two sacks that he took that he really could have thrown it away, but I would much rather him take the sack than throw an int. The O line owes Boyd an "I'm Sorry, it wont happen again" Steak dinner.

U can't be serious!?

At no point should cole be put in. Boyd played great.

And what do you mean Cole looked good against Troy? He had one pass for 7 yards. Was he impressive with his handoffs or something?

Re: U can't be serious!?

Agreed. TB is not our problem and played pretty well today. He had some throws that made you scratch your head and held the ball a little to long a couple of times. But for the most part he was very well.

I am very concerned about the defense and the O line.

Does everyone remember that Spence and TB always smoked the lower tier teams? We cannot even do that now.

Who knows what team will show up this upcoming Sat., but if we continue to play like we have the last 2 games (if this is who we truly are) we are lucky to win 4 games.

Your sadly mistaken.he got sacked 6 times because poor protection..you make it out like it was completely his fault...He played great today...Made the rights reads and even scrambled for a td and threw the ball great without an interception..So your saying Dabo should have said...hey tajh i know your doing great and all and havent thrown a pick but were gonna put cole in just for the heck of it..no..never

Or all the missed tackles we had on defense. I agree that our biggest problems are out lines. I think Boyd and our running game would have been a lot better if the line gave him more time.

which is what im saying.... sort of if our oline blocked it would have been a completely different story today. but hopefully we come out strong next week and the week after that. GO TIGERS!!!!!

better athletes won the game for us..

Sep 10, 2011, 9:19 PM

But it was almost not enough to be bigger, faster, and stronger in every matchup.

1. I saw freshman on defense out of position all day long. I sure hope Hall is back next week.
2. Let Chad Diehl do what he does best: Block. He got shut down several times last year too. I am a huge fan of his, but we need to use him to lead for Andre.
3. The kicking game is not fixed. It may be worse than last year. we left six points out there today.
4. The offensive line is really surprising me. There are plays when they are clicking on all cylinders and are looking invincible. Then there are plays where Tajh is running for his life before he has taken his second step. All I can think is that it is time to shuffle some guys around and see what sticks. 5. Tajh is turning into a good QB. Crisp passes, no interceptions, running a little bit; he could be a great one.
6. 23 is back. I would love to see 150+ next week.
7.Sammy is great, and so is Nuke. We have a bench-full of great recievers. I am very excited

It's the fact that the past two games we've played soft.

Sep 11, 2011, 12:13 PM [ in reply to We won? Wow the way these dumpers are talking ]

If we play like we did the first two games against Auburn, we'll get destroyed.

Sep 10, 2011, 11:16 PM

ok, our D used the excuse last week that the spread neutralized our athleticism. this week the triple option neutralized our athleticism.
Maybe our D is better suited to play against the wing t or something. we cannot get off the field.
i am very nervous about the rest of the year! i might have to start deer hunting again!

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Give Cole a shot?

Sep 10, 2011, 11:21 PM

A couple of posters seem to want that kid to get a shot. Why I don't know. Boyd is doing fine, especially when the offensive line gets in the mood to block someone. Cole will be a career long backup, and thats it. What does anyone actually expect from him? We stole him at the last minute from Wyoming, which may have been his only other D1 offer.

Both sides of the ball needs to learn how to go hit somebody in the mouth or we will be in for a long season. Im glad we won and there are many positives to get from both games but in all reality we are playing lower tier teams we should be demolishing, even in a rebuild year. THe coaches better figure out something or its going to get ugly.
