When we first hired Venables as DC, every sooner fan I know was thanking us for taking him. Now their all praying that he comes back as head coach and brings some of our recruits with him. Yeah, good luck with that.

I never understood the thinking that just because someone

is the best DC or OC in the country, they are assumed to be an incredible head coach. It's a whole other job. It's like assuming a heart surgeon could be an excellent hospital administrator.
