How and why are they getting this much cred on recruiting trail over us. Paylor hasn’t done his official visit to us but recruiting against them feels like the game this past year- weird.

wins and the last one in Death Valley. That turned them from a fluke to all the talk of the nation.
Hopefully Dabo learned a very hard lesson.

Beamer can recruit and he's highly motivated. They've probably been recruiting for a couple of years now. They've developed a relationship with him and Beamer is proving that their program is on the rise. It's easy to sell high school kids and their parents on your vision.
Dabo signed a top 10 class in 2011 after we finished 6-7. We stole Sammy Watkins, Tony Steward, and Mike Bellamy out of Florida. We stole Stephone Anthony out of North Carolina.
We need to accept the reality that Beamer is going to be successful at South Carolina.

Way too early to tell if he will be successful.
We can't start the hand-wringing when he wins 10+ games, a championship, or beats Clemson again.

They went 6-16 in the 2 years prior to his arrival. Getting to a bowl game with Zeb Noland, Jason Brown, and Luke Doty at QB coupled with their roster talent, is pretty incredible. Then to win 8 games in year 2 while beating two top 10 teams is also pretty incredible.
They are utilizing the transfer portal well and they are recruiting at really high level. Plus, he's a culture driven coach like Dabo. South Carolina is his dream job and he's there to stay.

Remember they said Spurrier left them with nothing and stopped recruiting years earlier?
Rattler was a good pickup but that was more luck of being the kid's TE coach previously. They would have had nothing without him.
I'm not sure what portal luck you are talking about. Their best players left for other schools after last year along with their OC. You think they would rather pick up players from the portal than keep the best ones they had?

Marshawn Lloyd was always hurt and they brought in that kid from Newberry to go along with Juju McDowell. So I don't really consider him a big loss.
I was never that impressed with Jaheim Bell or Austin Stogner, but they did bring in 2 portal TEs to replace them, while also signing that 5 star kid. I actually believe Trey Knox can be better than Bell for them. He's more of a natural TE, IMO.
They lost Jordan Burch and Gilbert Edmond, but replaced one of them with Jaron Willis. I would consider those pretty big losses. I'm sure they'll take a step back at that position since Pickens is off to the NFL too. But they were never great at Dline anyways.
Juice Wells was also a huge pickup for them last year. He was one of the best WRs in the SEC and he torched us. They also brought in 2 more WRs from the portal to help.
Not to mention they have the 16th ranked class according to 247 composite. You have to believe some of those freshmen will make immediate impacts for them. And their 2024 class is shaping up to be a top 10 class. Beamer is about to sign a better recruiting class than Spurrier ever did.

I agree with your assessment except for the dream job part. If he has success at SCAR others will come calling for his services. If a higher status program wants him and he turns it down we will know for sure. Until then the dream job seems like a a ploy to get the SCAR job as an assistant about to age out will say anything to get the HC offer

His daddy stayed at Virginia Tech forever. Shane is probably cut from the same cloth. And South Carolina is a much bigger/wealthier program than VT.

This year is very important for us. We need to get back to the playoffs, and beat the coots badly. We have the talent to accomplish this if we stay healthy. Our coaches need to push our guys really hard. It's a very important season coming up from a recruiting standpoint.

Matthews is a DB take right now and Paylor fits a bigger need than Taylor. We NEED speed and Paylor has plenty of that

Paylor did an interview very recently and said they lead NC ST by a pretty significant gap now. Down payment check must've cleared.
