While I agree it's head scratching why this particular case has blown up, to attach the "systemic racism" label to it is quite a stretch. Depending on where you look for stats, there are currently thousands of missing persons in the United States. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say at least some portion of those are white women that are also receiving no media interest.

One of the reasons is because the couple was making so many videos of their adventures. They seemed happy, but of course now we learn more.
I don't think it is a head scratcher - it's just like a good murder mystery. It's interesting and horrifying at the same time, and we can all imagine people we know like them. And, the victim being a woman brings in extra emotions because she appears so slight and innocent. It's like the difference in hearing about a puppy killed vs. the 15 year old dog that lived a good life. These kids had their whole life ahead of them.

This is it right here. This is the unconscious racial bias that pervades these stories and why you rarely see these types of stories for black and brown women. You'll likely deny it, but I would doubt you would describe a black or brown women as "so slight and innocent."
News media know that they can play on this "innocent white woman" narrative and knowing the vast majority of their watchers (especially Fox) are white. Thus they attach this above because you relate to it a lot easier than a black or brown woman.
You can imagine a white sister/cousin/niece/etc disappearing. You likely don't have the same feelings for a black or brown individual. I am not indicating this is wrong because this is your experience and cultural upbringing.
But labeling this woman as "America's daughter" when she doesn't look anything like nearly 40% of American woman just is sad. She isn't "America's Daughter"...she is a woman who got caught up in a terrible situation.

Here is a stat for you - disappearances of black women are 4x more likely to not be solved than white and hispanic women. And i will leave you some research as I am sure you love "to do your own research" on these topics

You know what they always leave out when reporting that? They leave out that whites will be a minority ONLY when compared with all non-whites combined. And that (rather offensively) implies that all non-whites act and think alike.

You do raise a good point, and yes this infers grouping all non-whites together, but the fact is, since the founding of America, European whites were the majority as a group (which to your point, also goes to say that all whites think the same too )
But as a country, it is a turning point, that America longer will be a primary European white descendant country.
Do East Asian Indians think the same as Nigerians or Mexicans or Kenyans or Turks? No they don't. All distinct and rich cultural backgrounds.
But there will be more room for discussions on their viewpoints since the dominant white European position will no longer be the majority voice in a room.

Simply because the public pays more attention to them. The focus studies show the general public is going to be more interested in pretty white girl missing.
People can say that makes the media racist, but it's more a commentary of what interests the public. This is why Nancy Grace primarily focused on white victims of crimes when she hollered like a mad cow on her show. She knew her demographics.
It's more about what the public wants in viewership over black vs. white or left vs. right.

And here is Don Lemon piling on the division sewn by the left...asserting that the white boy is getting some sort of special treatment. This is not a fringe element, this is a major CNN anchor.
These threads of division, including Biden's last horrific speech suggesting people are victims of corporations and rich CEOs, pile up in the heads of too many in the black community because this rhetoric is non-stop if you live in that community and listen for it. It is sewing major division...Ditto for the black national anthem - kudos to Isiah Thomas for speaking out against it.
