If, for 5 years in a row we hadn't dropped multiple games to sub 150 RPI (i.e. Really bad) basketball teams before the end of December we'd be a lock for the tourney. This should have been an acceptable road loss in a tough conference.

I don't agree with you about much but your post makes a lot of sense. If we would have beaten the teams we should have, 9-7 in ACC is good enough. Especially with our 4 top 25 wins.

We've got to find a we to "mesh" before January in the future

The problem is that we haven't meshed five straight years. This isn't losing early season games against power 5 teams. Heck, we can excuse the 0-fer against the SEC. This is BAD losses to teams like Gardner Webb and UMass (post-Calipari). The "Brownell is a great X's and O's coach" is pure hoakum.
