Then bust your ### and win your position. If you want money or an easy ride then hit the portal and make it happen. I'm so tired of these spoiled kids that play football crying because they are not getting playing time. Work harder and stay off social media is all I can tell you. Tired of kissing everyone's ###. If you want to be a tiger I support you. If you don't then hit the road so you can ride the pine somewhere else. That's why 90% of portal players die there. Now carry on with the wringing of hands and gnashing of teeth.

All that sounds good and fans can think that way. Dabo can think that way too, right up to the point he starts losing games and revenue begins to fall. I don't like all this portal and NIL crap either but it's here and to remain successful - in terms of wins - coaches are going to have to adapt to it.

I know this might sound alien to you but culture and ethic matter here. Success can be all well and good, but if you drift into the grey area Clemson will unhappily send one packing. Done it before.
There are no shortcuts climbing the mountain.

Funny how quickly this season "culture" took a backseat to the chatter about poor play calling and poor play on the Oline and at QB. No one said, "Our OC is awful and the QB can't hit an open receiver but let's the keep the focus on culture."
Maybe if Dabo starts dropping games the fan base - and big money donors - rally behind him, citing the great "culture." Sooner or later though, for 8.3 mil per year he's gonna have to win games - a lot of them and big ones. "Culture" will only go so far when you're cashing those kinds of checks.

It’s pretty easy to see why Dabo was against all this. He was spot on. It’s a horrendously I’ll-conceived knee jerk reaction to a hot button issue that is creating more problems than it helps.
College football has thrown the baby out with the bath water.
Now we have to “adapt” ...

adapt to college football world that we live in. Dabo has "shunned" the idea and concept of the portal the last 3-4 years, that mindset needs to change..............and I THINK it finally has, unfortunately it took a year where we're going to be "in the red" w/ scholarship players to convince him of that.
as for adapting to the NIL?......I don't know that Dabo can at Clemson, there's just not enough meat on the bone to compete, but maybe it's finding the loopholes (as many others have found) to sell sponsorships of players or utilize big money connections for NIL deals............again, I don't know that it's even possible at Clemson to adapt to NIL, but at least go down swinging.
I don't like the portal or NIL, but it is what it is and I just want to see the Clemson Football program stay elite, I have my doubts that they can.

…or ride out the storm and stick with your standards. Compromise is the worst death sentence because you sell out your values for meaningless wins with fly by night people. Better to have 8,9 +10 win seasons being true to your recruits than pulling in an outsider to bump them out of the picture they worked so hard to be in. People are more important than trophies.

also, 8,9,10 win season will be a pipe dream once the NIL full effects take place.......it'll drive the fans away. Maybe not fans of Texas, bama, ohio state, etc...., but everywhere else they will.
unless some sort of parameters/policing is put into place...........I don't see that happening or being possible at this point............too many lawyers and lawsuits involved

Clemson has to adjust to the NIL era and organize like the other big schools have. Their boosters have built networks of business owners who are ready and willing to offer NIL deals to players and recruits. We are behind in this area and have to evolve to keep up.
