The Pylon -- why in the world

does football need it at any level? What is the difference in the goal line and any other marked yard lines on the field??

Its like the pole in outfield in baseball.

If you hit it its a home run otherwise its very obvious what side of the poll you were on because the poll is wider than a line....If the ball touches the pylon in the front then its in. Easy to see no lines involved, think before replay how hard it was to see if he crossed the line or not.

I dont have a problem with the pylon

what gets me is the dumb rule where if the player touches it at all they're ruled out of bounds.. Nuk's catch today should have been a TD and would have been if his toe didnt clip the very top of the pylon

It was put there to see if your foot was out of bounds while in the air:) Thats the only way it could fit in to that BS they called. Its a foot gage:)
