NFl bluster about calls....

tired of it all, guess it makes great discussion though. IDK, did anyone see the game I saw? 49ers hit Cowboys in the mouth early and often, took charge in THEIR stadium. Generally had a better D and better O than Dallas. As for the last play, there was only a snowball's chance even if they got another play.
As for "inadvertent" whistles (in the other game), we were all taught from an early age to "play to the echo of the whistle", and most of the time they are playing after the whistle, esp. on tackles where there are scrums, so what happened to that.
I don't care about the Cowboys or 49ers, but the Niners were the better team and it showed in the outcome, fortunately. I've got no patience with the McCarthy guy for Dallas either.

49'ers, because I know that kills Jerry Jones soul. McCarthy is just a slightly smarter Rex Ryan. He will kick around a few more years as a coach like Ryan did, and then, having made every stop there is, become a paid shill on some football show somewhere.

Nobody should be complaining about the final play in Dallas. You can't spot the ball yourself and expect snap it. Even if the ref spots it, you have to let him move out of the way before it can be legally snapped. Inadvertent whistles have always been a problem and nobody wants to hear them but they do happen.

Exactly....the ball must be touched by the official before the play can run. It's Dak's fault for not cutting off that run sooner to save time....situational awareness. Or he should've handed the ball to the official after the play...not his center. The inadvertent whistle was blown halfway through the play so before touchdown. Since those aren't reviewable, the crew made a judgment call about when it blew and they were wrong. Tough spot to be in but a bad call.

I've been a Cowboys fan as long as I've been a Clemson fan... as long as I could talk. And we just got beat. We got beat by the Niners and we got beat by ourselves. The Cowboys tied the record for most penalties in a post season game. And it wasn't because the refs called a bad game or were out to get us. Dallas looked outclassed the entire game.
We've seen the same situation before with Clemson. When you're in the playoffs, you have to bring your A game. We didn't beat Alabama 44-16 because Alabama was a bad team. Clemson just brought it that night and were the better team. Last night, Dallas didn't bring their A game and they got whipped. It was a good season, but it's over with nobody to blame but themselves.

Jones didn't want to open up the checkbook for Dak Prescott. With him at the helm, there have been too many cases of the Dallas offense turning into The Invisible Man. Sad, too, because as much and as long as I have hated the Cowboys (All the way back to Roger the Chicken Dodger Staubach), I kind of liked Dak. I always respected the fact that he made himself a good pro QB after coming from, let's face it, a mediocre at best college program in Miss. State.

Dallas was unprepared, lacked discipline and played like they have all year. Poor clock management an issue yesterday as with their other games. Of the “14” accepted penalties against them, 8 either gave SF a first down or called back a first down for Dallas.
Bottom line, it’s coaching and McCarthy should be fired. SF outplayed and out coached Dallas. Heck, he was fired at GB. In his two seasons at Dallas their record is 15-19 and only 6-9 when playing teams outside the weak East.

the full facts and bg of a guy from those who know and compare to a first-time observer like myself. I didn't even know who the guy was before last night, and don't follow the NFL much. But yet, watching the game and then hearing his comments the first thing I thought was "Loser".

Dallas was very much in that game, but I've never seen a team with the lack of discipline they have. They lost that game with countless self inflicting penalties and it showed all year for them. Every game there's 4 or 5 offsides and false start penalties, countless penalties after a big play or a big 3rd down stop to keep a drive alive. Its really unreal how they do that to themselves so much in a game.
