How can Alabama be favored? It makes no sense

Jan 1, 2016, 12:19 AM

I don't get that. Bama seems physical but to me they just seem kinda slow too.

Because Bama and Satan have won multiple championships! While I love Clemson, Alabama is favored in virtually all their games.

Go Tigers!!

I'm glad that we will be the underdog again.

IMO, playing the underdog role is the best case scenario for us. This team plays their best when they feel like they aren't being given the credit they deserve. Dabo has done a tremendous job of using any lack of respect, whether real or perceived, to motivate these guys throughout the entire year.

Back in mid-October when we were starting to get a little bit of recognition on the national scene, it seemed like there was always at least a few analysts in the media that were saying that the next game would finally be the game where we "pulled a Clemson." This sentiment reached it's peak prior to the Miami game when there were several "experts" predicting us to go on the road to Miami and lay an egg. Our players obviously didn't appreciate this and preceded to go out and decimate an above average Miami team by a team record-tying margin of victory for a conference game.

With the next game being the national championship, I know our players are going to be motivated. However, I think that playing up the fact that we are still not being given much of a chance by the national media even after going 14-0 we will be able to gain the extra edge that we will need in order to win our first national championship since January 1982.

Also, Alabama is an outstanding team. Despite the claims of a handful of the posters on this board throughout the past couple months, the Tide have undeniably proven themselves to be one of the top teams in the country. I don't see how anyone could honestly make the claim that Alabama is anything other than one of the top 2 teams in the country. I don't think there is a single team out there other than us that can compete with Alabama with the way they are playing at this point in time (Yes I know that Ole Miss beat them in Tuscaloosa, but Bama has been playing much better since that loss).

And how in the world can you say that they seem slow? They definitely have one of the fastest defenses in the nation. Following their first loss to Johnny Manziel and Texas A&M a few years ago, Nick Saban has made adjustments to his defensive approach in order to be more competitive against the HUNH spread offenses that were beginning to proliferate throughout college football. Saban has gone from building his defense around the mammoth guys in the middle of the field (i.e., Terrance Cody) that rotate out regularly to his current approach of using smaller, more athletic defensive players that have the stamina and versatility to stay on the field regardless of formation, down, and distance.

They just shut out the number 3 team

Jan 1, 2016, 5:46 AM

Although they shouldn't have been 3, but nonetheless it was an impressive win and I'm not surprised. As just about everyone else, kind of glad.

It's fine. Don't make our fanbase look bad by whining.***
