In no particular order.
1. Streeter called a great game. I am convinced that Dabo and the rest of the coaches never let on how bad DJ's finger was in respect to throwing the deep ball. He threw one early, underthrown for an interception. Never threw another one.
2. DJ looked better tonight in terms of making a play when his first read isn't open. He scrambled a few times and kept his eyes downfield finding an open guy.
3. DJ's accuracy is awful. I hope a lot of it is due to his finger, but I don't think so. He was inaccurate before his finger was hurt. I expect there to be a real battle for QB in Spring practice that may not get settled until August.
4. Goodwin did a fine job as well. Especially after Skalski went out. Young guys all over the back 7. And, they held Iowa State to 1 TD.
5. Shipley is a man! Nuff said.
6. Clemson - coaches and players - shows what "Clemson culture" is and how much it means to all of them. If Dabo hadn't built that culture, this season would've probably ended without a bowl appearance period. For all those who question Dabo, I submit you repent from the error of your ways.

Shipley is the man, gives everything he has every play.
Wish tonight there could have been two Players Of The Game.
And one of them should go to Goodrich. His TD plus last play sealed the win.

Great post and I especially agree with your final point. A lot of coaches would’ve lost the focus of their team after our 2nd loss and especially our 3rd whenever our NC chances were dead and our ACC hopes were on life support.

At that point it's don't screw it up. We didn't, we won. Conservative has been the call all year, as it should have been with this offense.

The ball was tipped. If it wasn’t the receiver was there. DJ improvised on several plays tonight - much better than most of the season. Maybe his best game all year. Seems like some of y’all just can’t see it.

D.J. could not finish the game, UNC came back to tie it, and then win it. It is called distrust of QB.
We were used to QB's who would drive it down the in last 2 minutes to near the goal line then take a knee.

I understand what you saw. But surely you understand it looked that way because of the burning trash can that runs out on the field wearing #5. I’ll judge him with a serviceable QB.

That’s a completion if it’s not tipped. The receiver was running between two defenders with plenty of room to fit the pass in.

Exactly. He completed a couple of those tonight. Best game all year for him as far as extending plays and improvising. If Shipley had caught the “chest pass” in the first half that would have been a thing of beauty.

His accuracy is awful because his fundamentals are awful. He gets lazy with his feet and the ball either ends up sailing on him or doesn't have the velcocity it needs to get in there when guys are open and gets batted down. Hopefully Streeter will do with him what Morris did with Tajh his last year, go back to the drawing board, get the weight down and focus on the little things.

The bottom line is we won the game. So, we had some bad plays. Most of those plays were affected by the opposing team's defense. But, we had enough good plays as a team to win the game. That's why they call it a team sport. Go Tigers.

DJ will have to make a complete turn around with improvement by the start of next season, or true freshman Cade Klubnik will take over as starter in fall camp, or within the first couple of games of the start of the season. Dabo may want to do with Cade as he did with DW4, and TL16, play both QBs in the first few games before he decides who he will hand the ball to as the starting QB for the rest of the season!!!! It worked out pretty well with those other two stars, and it will be the same with who ever comes out on top between DJ and Cade. For all we know, one of those other guys may hit their stride, and pass DJ, and Cade. I doubt it, but things like that has happen somewhere in the past!!!

He only threw that 1 deep ball that was based off a blitz. It was actually a good throw with a guy in the process of hitting him. It was a 50/50 ball with PI that wasn’t called and many of the receivers we’ve had come through here would have still caught it.
