There's a whole universe out there of BS websites

Nov 18, 2021, 10:03 AM

I mean it used to be easy. MSNBC, CNN, WAPO, NYT, etc. But then Fox News got into the mix, then a ton of other sites with shady as #### names. I just go international now for most covid news.

It's a pdf of a f*ucking legal filing by the FDA.

Nov 18, 2021, 10:10 AM

and the blog post is written by a lawyer in the case.

Sure, it's not being covered in the mainstream news. What a f*ucking shocker.

The intellectual property of Pfizer and Moderna?

Nov 18, 2021, 9:59 AM

Medical information of identifiable people? Can't think of much else.

And you're free to go to Israel, Singapore, Australia, Germany, Sweden, or several dozen other countries and see their data. And honestly I'd take their data over Pfizer, Moderna, or the FDA's data.

Re: The intellectual property of Pfizer and Moderna?

I like Israel's data. Especially the one study that found that natural antibodies were more effective than the vaccines.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Tiggity aint gonna like that one

Nov 18, 2021, 10:08 AM

He only likes the ones that are pro vax and keep the country wearing masks and shutting the country down more.

All other studies are trash.

IP and PII can easily be redacted. But that's a pathetic

Nov 18, 2021, 10:11 AM [ in reply to The intellectual property of Pfizer and Moderna? ]

excuse really. Also, "we the people" paid for this bullsh*t so shouldn't it be our intellectual property?

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Wait, are you suggesting a private company should then

Nov 18, 2021, 11:40 AM

give up it's intellectual property and hand it over to the government for no other reason that the government paid for it? Interesting.

Nov 18, 2021, 10:18 AM

take a look at this statement in the request:

The ability of a majority of Americans to participate in civil society, and even exercise
basic liberty rights, are now contingent on receiving this product

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'm just gonna guess here....

Nov 18, 2021, 10:28 AM

but a FOIA request for 365,000 pages of documents likely takes an enormous administrative effort to produce, because the agency must go through each page and make sure it's not releasing information it's not allowed to release, etc...

The request for all of that information isn't really a reasonable request IMO.

The FDA came back and said it can release 500 pages per month.

I don't suspect you know any more about the effort required than I do...and I'm just guessing here.

On the face of it, it sounds like a party makes a request for an unreasonable number of documents...gov said they can release about 500 pages per month and then the party screams "WHAT ARE THEY HIDING!"

Perhaps the group making the request could narrow the scope of their request? nah...that's crazy, right? Better to just use it as a talking point for the uninformed.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

it takes 50 yrs to produce?

Nov 18, 2021, 10:32 AM

that is one big ### document then

you gotta take the shot to find out whats in it, then maybe

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

They asked for 329,000 pages....

Nov 18, 2021, 10:36 AM [ in reply to it takes 50 yrs to produce? ]

I would say that's a lot.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

FDA proposed 500 pages per month....

Nov 18, 2021, 10:38 AM

329,000 / 500 / 12 = 54.8 years

As I said...perhaps the FOIA request needs to be narrowed.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

As I said, I'm guessing here....

Nov 18, 2021, 1:22 PM

but don't documents provided by a private company to the government have to be carefully reviewed by the government prior to fulfilling a FOIA request?

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: As I said, I'm guessing here....

Nov 18, 2021, 1:28 PM

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

maybe....I'm thinking the exact opposite...

Nov 18, 2021, 1:33 PM

that the FDA would want all of the subject's info in the data for verification/tracing purposes.

I guess we'll see what the judge says. FDA would have to make a argument to the judge on why 500 pages per month is reasonable.

Again...just guessing here...but I'd be shocked if there wasn't a way for the scope of the request to narrowed and serve the same purpose.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: maybe....I'm thinking the exact opposite...

Nov 18, 2021, 1:34 PM

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

So it took what, somewhere around 100 days to do what

Nov 18, 2021, 1:14 PM [ in reply to I'm just gonna guess here.... ]

I presume would be a more in depth review of the information to give Phizer the go-ahead, but it will take 55 years to go back through that same data to make sure they can release it? Does that make sense to you?

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpgringofhonor-lakebum1-110.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yes, I think it COULD make sense....

Nov 18, 2021, 1:29 PM

when reviewing the data, I suspect the data is tabulated and there are some spot QA checks on the tabulation, etc... Again, I'm just guessing here.

Also, when reviewing the data, they don't have to worry about what is proprietary, etc...

I THINK to release all this data, it has to be scrubbed for proprietary data and I'm also guessing HIPPA -related issues. I'm assuming all of the studies have people's names and info on them.

I was involved (very much on the outskirts) in a FOIA issue with some proprietary info that the Government (in this case Dept of Energy) had from my company that was caught up in the request. What I took away from that was that it just isn't as simple as "release the info" that I previously thought it was.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

sorry...meant "HIPAA"***

Nov 18, 2021, 1:30 PM

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I certainly don't think it's as simple as 'release the data'

Nov 18, 2021, 1:36 PM [ in reply to Yes, I think it COULD make sense.... ]

But I don't think it makes any sense whatsoever that they can sift through the data with a fine enough comb to OK the vaccine for millions of people in a matter of months, but it will take 55 years to make sure they don't release any proprietary/HIPPA related information.

If you told me it could take 6 months to a year, maybe even a little more...I'll buy that. 55 years, not so much. I smell some stanky B.S.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpgringofhonor-lakebum1-110.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Is it in the public interest to devote the same resource...

Nov 18, 2021, 3:03 PM

to this specific FIOA as to approving a vaccine for a pandemic? I would say no.

But, I'm not suggesting I know if their response is a reasonable one or not....I'm just trying to make the point that the request is for 329,000 pages of data and that the data has be closely examined and because the initial reply was it's going to take a really long time doesn't mean that government is trying to hide something...IMO.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

If the federal govt. is going to force private businesses to

Nov 18, 2021, 3:11 PM

fire people for not getting this vaccine, then yes, I would say it's in the public interest to devote similar resources to getting this information out there.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpgringofhonor-lakebum1-110.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That's a reasonable point....

Nov 18, 2021, 4:11 PM

let's hope the courts step in and correct the federal over-reach on that issue.
