How about the announcers IMPLORING that officiating...

Jan 4, 2014, 7:35 AM

...commentator that Anthony's interception was NOT an interception?

I mean they had that play replayed 30 times. They were talking to that non-official official like: Come on, can't you see Anthony bumbling the ball? You can see it, can't you, can't you??? It's right in front of you to see. You have to overturn that interception, you just have to, right, right, right, right?????

Can you imagine the lambasting those commentators would have given if Clemson lost that game over the penalties and praising that bumbling group of officials on the field? The color commentator was praising this officiating crew so gallantly that he too must have been on the take.

I still have a hard time understanding how the ground can't

Jan 4, 2014, 7:38 AM

cause a fumble but can cause an incomplete pass. To me it makes no sense, but then again, I'm not the brightest light buld in the box.

Those two take over as the most biased announcers on ESPN

Terrible bunch. My wife even had USC fans commenting on facebook about how they were making fun of Clemson and pulling for Ohio State. Wish sometimes we could at least get unbiased announcers. And as far as the officials, I'll never complain about Ron Cherry again.

After seeing the debacle that was the Detroit Lions under Millen's leadership, I take everything he says with a grain of salt!!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Matt Millen, football's biggest idiot

Jan 4, 2014, 10:55 AM

That guy was spouting some serious verbal diarrhea last night. Even the Buckeye fans I know hated him. Every time he said "Buckaroo" I could feel them all grinding their teeth and glaring.

And Matt Millen saying what a great job the officiating crew was doing right after they got their call reversed.

And how do you have sideline interference on the opposite side of where the play was?

Worst officiating I've seen in a while.

Millen is a total and complete as...hole! What a joke he and that other bozo were! THE Ohio State University got the sh.. kicked pout of I tin every phase of the game and apparently didn't ;like it! Solution: play harder. That QB Miller might think about playing Pop Warner where the hits are a lot softer.

How about the comment that the officials were fair and called a good game?

badge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Complete embarrassment...it was so obvious that...

Jan 4, 2014, 8:54 AM

...Millen kept INSISTING time and again that this officiating crew was doing an unbelievably outstanding job of officiating. He continued to make these comments in praise of the officiating crew to the point of absurdity.

It was like he had been coached before the game to make sure that the viewing audience knew how great this officiating crew was working this game.

His praise seemed to be on cue just like commercial timeouts.

Yes, they were doing some excellent officiating...FOR THE BUCKEYES. Even ESPN took a swipe at the officials in the game recap.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It's a long story, but I had to watch the ESPN en Español

Jan 4, 2014, 8:48 AM

broadcast. The announcers didn't seem biased at all to me. Half the time I couldn't tell who they were talking about at all.

across the goal line on the previous replay.

eehhh...not during the game. they promoted his foot was out after the replay but would only show it from a top-forward angle & not from the side which would've been the best view...
never showed close-up of side-top angle!

the unofficial official said it would not be overturned and tayb did score but we got it any way.

A gamecoot friend of mine told me he hates Millen, too.

Jan 4, 2014, 11:02 AM

I think Ed Cunningham is worse, but not much worse.

Announcers sucking is annoying, but refs sucking affects the game.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I don't think both announcers got that play wrong? Clearly

Jan 4, 2014, 11:12 AM

he had control over the ball when he rolled on his back

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

My favorite was when they kept going with it and asked

Jan 4, 2014, 11:35 AM

"But what if you're an OSU fan at home having a beer...then do you overturn it?" ...or something like that...it was getting ridiculous.

I had to turn them off at half, and watch the second half listening to the radio. Even though the radio was about 15 seconds ahead of the TV, I just couldn't take it anymore. By far the worst announcer/officiating combo I've ever witnessed.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Millen is a fool

Jan 4, 2014, 1:43 PM

I haven't re watched the game yet. I'm sorry to hear so many bad reviews of Joe Tessitore. I usually enjoy his calls.

So happy with the win! Thanks Tigers!!
