Really close Syracuse game?

Oct 26, 2020, 8:06 AM

Minus a pick 6 & blocked FG it’s a 47-7 with a missed bomb & missed Field goal.

Dabo wasn’t happy the Clemson media were so spoiled they were asking negative questions. He’ll handle Clemson but he’s not going to continue to coach with spoiled unhappy fans with not big enough wins.

I was uncomfortable watching that press conference.

Do we need to appreciate these wins? In my opinion we need to cherish every win & Dabo too. Don’t grieve the coach!

What say you?

The media will continue to ask questions and Clemson Fans will continue to be some of the Nations best.

I'm guessing there are enough digits on his paycheck he will manage to continue on somehow despite aa grumble here or there

I’ve found there actually starts to be an inverse correlation between the number of 0’s on your paycheck and what you are willing to put up with. More 0’s /= more patience.

You are actually more valued by the market which means you are more likely to have outside interest(s), especially when you are still having success.

Regardless, I have to thoughtfully disagree with you @74TIGER; Dabo isn’t immune to this phenomenon, regardless of how much he puts trust in his faith.

Everyone needs to remember those media folks are not

Clemson grads/fans. They are looking for something to complain about. Good ole Phil Kornblut pissed off Dabo at a couple of media days this season. Phil is die hard SCAR.

I think this was a good game for our tigers. Definitely seemed off time and still won by almost 4 touchdowns. The media is gonna grab any headline they can. In reality, we should have known Syracuse was gonna be up for this game. It's the biggest one on their schedule. We as fans need to be able to not worry so much about what the media's "hot headline" is after a game like this cause we have the best team in the country

The game against us is now the biggest game on EVERYONE'S

schedule. If we have not figured that out by now, shame on us! We better get used to getting everyone's best shot, because that's all you ever get once you get to the head of the big table.

As long as we keep winning, we'll keep getting everyone's best shot. Some will come more fired up than others but we keep winning. They may not be the best looking but all wins are wins. We used to lose the games we didn't play great in. Now we in the majority. Like Dabo said, "A sloppy win is better than an ugly loss."

Its starting to get ridiculous. This same stupid narrative

Oct 26, 2020, 8:42 AM

happens every year. Fans, for some reason, expect no one to make a mistake and every playcall to be spot on perfect. We won the game by nearly 4 touchdowns. You win by 4 TDs you played great in my book. we gotta stop looking so dumb by feeding into this thing e-v-e-r-y time we don't play perfect. We got the best players in the league people! Enjoy it while you still can! Stop looking for every way imaginable to be miserable.

IF anything i think its good that the game (fluky as it was) got close at a point. We need our guys to get pushed every once in a while so that they know how to deal with it later. Last year that was part of why we didn't win it all IMO. We sailed through the season and ACCCG and play C games against OSU and LSU. Hopefully this Notre DAMe game will be a tough one that we will need to gut out to win. That stuff only makes your team better. Go Tigers!

I appreciate these days. A "not-sharp day" and we a conference team by 26. What, do we think a 64 point win over GT should be normal. Heck even the 15 & 16 had nailbiters and our not-so-sharp days were down to the wire finishes. Still NCG material.

In any case, this is the "betting" media taking hold. They are more focused on the spread than winning.

Clemson fans are spoiled !!!

Oct 26, 2020, 8:58 AM

I've been saying it for years.

There aren't too many teams who can play a B or B- game (pick 6, blocked punt, dropped passes, missed FG, breakdown in the pass coverage, etc.) and still win by more than four TD's.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

Exactly. A B- game under Bowden meant a loss to Wake or Duke

Oct 26, 2020, 9:09 AM

lol.

It was not Clemson's best game...

Oct 26, 2020, 9:36 AM

this year...not by a long shot. However, you have to credit Syracuse. They showed-up ready to play and compete.

People also lose sight of the fact that teams, including Clemson, didn't really have the benefit of Spring ball or a normal Fall preparation time. Consequently, teams just aren't going to look as polished.

When you win several nattys then that’s kinda expected. No matter the fan base. Plus when you use slogans like “best is the standard” then you kind of set yourself up for tough questions when things don’t go as expected. Dabo’s an intelligent person, he understands.

Dabo handled it well. He took exception to the idea that the Tigers played without the proper energy, and he called out the reporters for it. In doing so he showed his players that he has their backs. Some players could get discouraged by negative spin from the media and I was glad to see Dabo do something about it.

Most of us appreciate Dabo and this team. We're just not necessarily as vocal as those who express dissatisfaction.
