Pickens County was one of the only counties with a major college to vote Republican in 2020. Granted, Clemson's student population is not as large as most of the major universities, but there is hope.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Election Day is a day off for Clemson and usually part of a longer fall break. Most of the students go home and if they vote they vote at home. The Pickens county stats are more representative of the faculty vote than the student vote.

As far back as I can remember Poli Sci profs have been more liberal than the university overall. Even during the Reagan era it was a relief to finish classes like Poli Sci and Soc and get to Econ and Accounting where the faculty had a more conservative mindset.

Both of those candidates are terrible! The other guy is a slumlord. But that’s actually very common. Black people #### all over other black people. There’s a long history of that. There are some great amateur documentaries on YouTube that look at black communities during and after segregation that are pretty enlightening. Most black communities only had businesses that were owned and run by black people during segregation. The buildings were in terrible condition, product quality and selection was terrible, prices were high, but people had no choice. The minute white businesses started coming into the community the county stepped in and condemned most of those buildings and blacks loved going to the white businesses because they were actually treated better, better quality and selection, and cheaper prices.
I see it right now on James Island. On the way to Folly Beach at Crosby‘s seafood they have a food truck with fried seafood as well as other Lowcountry standards. A stones throw away in a little black community on James Island are some blacks that run a similar seafood food truck. Their customers are mostly black, not people that live on Folly Beach or renting a beach house. Yet their food is more expensive and poor quality compared to Crosby‘s.
I hate to break it to liberals but black people exploit the hell out of other black people especially in black communities where people have less options.

I heard from a friend who is a HS HC and knows the Walker Family. Herschel was totem between UGA and Clemson. With Clemson a slight favorite. One with his parents Herschel flipped a coin for Clemson or UGA. It came up UGA. But before Herschel could let his parents know he was really more interested in Clemson the called Vince Dooley and committed Herschel to UGA. Dooley immediately announced it and Herschel was headed to UGA.
If HW or Woodruff’s Tony Rice had played at Clemson it’s possible Danny Ford would have won a second NC. Especially if Tony Rice had come to Clemson.
I can’t confirm this is 100% accurate but a couple of my UGA friends have said that’s pretty much how it happened.

It may have. Lol we may never know. I don’t know if you remember Marcus Dupree a freshman who played for Barry Switzer at OU. Switzer was hell bent that freshman would not start at OU even though he ran circles around ever RB at OU. After OU got off to an 0-3 starts someone above Switzer told him Marcus Dupree would start the rest of the games. He had a great year. When Marcus went home for the summer he was not going back to OU because Switzer was such a jerk to him. A few days a nice modular showed at to replace the little house Marcus Dupree’s mom lived. Marcus went back to OU.
So yep I remember those days of cars, houses and money. My neighbor was recruited by UGA, Clemson, Ole Miss, SC and other’s. He was going to Clemson but when the DC was fired he choose SC and Sparky Woods. He said on many recruiting trips one trip especially from ole Miss he received an envelope he owed on his flight home. It had 5 $100 bills. While playing for the coots he received financial assistance from some of the assistant coaches on the range of about $2000. That was in the early to mid 90’s.
Now with NIL you can legally buy your team! Lol

I'm the same age as Herschel Walker and remember his recruitment very well. (I don't believe the coin toss thing in the slightest.) It was always clear that the final three schools were Georgia, Clemson, and Georgia Tech - he probably said as much, though I can't remember it that well. But none of us really thought he was going anywhere but Georgia - that seemed to always be where his heart was, he just kept his options open for a while. But, man, did everyone want him, for sure!

You understand that crude oil is a commodity on the world market, right? The price isn't set in Washington. The economic actions taken against Russia have reduced supply so the price has gone up. This is pretty simple economics. (Oil company profits are way up because of the price increases, so maybe you should be mad at them?) Western Europe, which is far more dependent on Russian energy than us, has it much worse.

But when you cut off all drilling and disable the Keystone Pipe line as well as make every effort to shutdown coal plants you then make yourself 'Dependent' on those foreign supplies and market pricing shifts. We essentially "create the catastrophe" ourselves when we didn't have to. Far left theories about the global warming crisis creates this problem and there is no end in sight. Again, not trying to be too tough on you, but you understand that we are a Net Oil Exporter, don't you? Production began ratcheting up in the Obama years and, by 2020, we were producing more than we were using.
Oil companies cut production when gas prices dropped and need to get it back up again so that they can export more without raising prices on us. That's on oil companies.
Russia invaded Ukraine, full stop. Thankfully, Washington has been mostly united that that can not be allowed to stand. We need to oppose them just as our grandfathers opposed German encroachment in Europe before WWII.
I think it is becoming something of a proxy war with Russia, as Ukraine is depending on the US and Western Europe to keep them supplied. But it started by Russia's unilateral action. (And let's remember that the first Trump impeachment came when he held up military aid to Ukraine because he wanted dirt on a political opponent. Can you imagine how different response of the US would have been to the Russian invasion of Ukraine had it happened on Trump's watch? Ukraine, the Balkans... Putin wants to restore the USSR and Trump would have been fine with it. Heck, he praised Putin when this war began - as if starting a war somehow makes you a strong leader.) I'm not sure how believing that a sovereign nation shouldn't just be invaded in a land grab is part of a "liberal progressive globalist agenda," whatever the hell that is.

I agree with you deroberts. I don’t hate any group of people. But I don’t have to agree with them or support their platform. And I don’t like it being forced on society or to schools. It’s my job to raise my kids and explain certain things to them about life. It’s my job to teach my kids right from wrong not the schools and certainly Not organized groups who push their beliefs on kids who don’t even understand some of what they are selling. If they want play politics in schools, then I demand the 10 Commandments be placed back in schools and government buildings. I demand kids have access to all sides which would include allowing Bible’s back in schools.
I am sure this next statement will #### off a lot of people. At some point you have to take a stand. if the lbgtq community has to have a national organization, local organization’s and groups to push their agenda, in grammar schools, middle schools , HS and college’s to try and teach that their lifestyle is acceptable by God , why do they have to aggressively market their lifestyle. Why do they find it necessary to have all of these parades, protest, a special lbgtq holiday or continue spending millions lobbying our government for equal rights as a man and women. If it’s such a natural lifestyle why is all of the above necessary???
Those of you who agree with how I feel join me and start fighting back. Push our agenda’s in the schools and lobby the government for our side and our beliefs. This WOKE stuff is BS!
I can’t remember a single parade promoting the lifestyle of the traditional family with a mother, father and kids.

I have friends of every race as friends and neighbors. They don’t have parades either. Now the NAACP has to have parades and protest to justify their high paying jobs.
I don’t remember any of my friends mom and dad marching in a parade talking about their sex lives in public. What people do behind close doors as long as children or unwilling people are not involved.

They trick you into giving your rights away to help a perceived dispossessed when the real truth of prosperity and progress is found self reliance and personal responsibility. They have. I love Clemson with all my heart. But my daughter left for Clemson as Conservative, Christian, Bible believing respectful individual.
When she returned home after graduation I found she was very liberal with socialist views and views that contradict God’s words and no longer believe the values her mother and I taught her.
Between the liberal professors with a ratio of 12 to 1 (conservative) professor it no wonder our kids come out of college with these leftist idea’s. It why Hershel Walker did not win Athens. Our kids come out of college brainwashed.
I was taught to always show respect to those older than. My parents, My Grandparents My Aunts, Uncle’s, older cousin’s, if I did not I got my butt kick since I was still living at home and receiving financial assistance from the people mentioned above. But these kids in today’s world will say anything or do anything in front of their older family members. They do not know what the word Respect means anymore.
They think we those who fought in WW I , WW II, Korean War, Vietnam, Mogadishu, Granada,’and the Middle East are out of touch with the realities of the world. I use to listen to my elders . I did not always follow their advice (Something I really wish I had done now). But today’s kids think they know everything. I had one college graduate tell me until people of my generation and those older died off positive socialist changes could not be made. Our Christian Conservative Values are hurting the world. I stopped donating to 2 Universities because I am not going to pay for more liberal socialist to graduate on my $$$$.
2024 is going to be a War! Please for those of you who want to get rid of the Pelosi’s , Schumer’s, Biden’s , and other socialist and communist politicians then the Conservative Republican’s are going to need your donations starting today through Election Day in 24’.
I am very disappointed in many of the results. But I still believe we have an Election Integrity problem in many states. On one state many of the highly Republican voting location had problems with their voting machines. Once again voter fraud is an issue. Several democrats working polls and counting mail In ballots were removed by those who legally over see polling places.
What is wrong with people in my state we had 3,309,000 registered voters. Less than 600,000 voted. IMO polling places should be set up where the elderly can vote.
I told some kids in their 20’s they should try to buy US made products because we were making the Chinese Communist Party wealthy enough to challenge the United States economically and militarily. The Chinese want War with the United States.
Wake Americans before we are no longer the United States. We made some gains but lost some key senate races. I am not rich by any means but if I can make donations to candidates all over the United States. Some excellent people, than I challenge you to do the same. Today is not to late. Liberal millionaire’s and most Hollywood elite are buying elections every time we have an election. George Soros is a dangerous man with millions to send the the socialist liberal Dems. Many Republicans rely on people like you and me.

I think for myself too. But I have spoken with numerous parents who said they kids came back brainwashed. Are they really learning to think for themselves or are the thinking the way liberal college professors want them to think.
There are 2 many stories I have heard from other parents and some of the kids I have met several recent graduates who did not show me any respect. I my daughter disrespected you and anyone else. I would take disciplinary action with her and she would apologize too you.
As long as she lives in my home and reply’s on me financially. I deserve her respect.
Respect, Character, Integrity, Christian Faith, Honesty and Love are all words our kids she be taught everyday at home, at church ( that’s your choice) at school up to a point. Ultimately it up to me and her mom to teach our kids.
When I am paying for her education at Clemson yes I have a say so in what she does that could have an impact on my life financially and legally.
When she becomes totally self sufficient she no longer has to answers to me. She then will answer to God and the legal system.

There absolutely positively is no separation of church and state in the constitution. The founding fathers were brilliant and if they wanted that they would’ve been very specific. Not one obscure little phrase. Separation of church and state what is a progressive court packed by FDR.
The constitution says the legislature, not the government, the legislature, shall not create a state sponsored church. In other words, the American legislature cannot create and fund a church the way England created the church of England because the king wanted to divorce and the pope wouldn’t give him one!
The constitution does not create separation of church and state. It simply says there is to be no national religion created by the government.

Trump is very polarizing. He is sometimes deliberately condescending, and he is largely unapologetic for it, which tends to rub some people the wrong way. Let's be honest, there are times when he can be a total a$$ and he goes out of his way to do so. While he was a much better President than Biden, people simply don't like him as a person. On that basis, it will be challenging to unify the country or swing those independent votes if Trump were to win the Republican nomination. There are leaders and then there are those who lead and inspire those around them. People follow those who lead not because they have to, but because they want to.

I know a lot of people who voted for him the first time around. I spent three years grateful that we didn't actually face any crisis on his watch because he would be incapable of managing. So his stupid stuff was relatively benign - let's buy Greenland! I love Kim and other strongmen. But then along came COVID - still remember him saying "it's only twelve people and it will be gone in a couple of weeks." What a sh!tshow. Even the part he handled well - pouring money into pharmaceutical companies to develop vaccines - he undermined by not messaging the importance of taking the pandemic seriously.
But when the election came around we saw the true Trump, sowing doubt in how our elections work, encouraging mobs to storm the Capitol building to prevent the peaceful transition of power. The damage he did to the democracy is hard to overstate. The guy spent his four years in office saying that if he loses reelection it is because the election was rigged. When he campaigned before that with the stupid "lock her up" nonsense and claiming that election was rigged (until he won). He spent the eight years before that falsely claiming that President Obama was not a native born American - not simply disagreeing with Obama policies, but sowing doubt in the legitimacy of the Commander-in-Chief.
I expected the typical mid-term reversal, especially in light of the pocketbook issues people are facing, even if those are beyond the control of the party in power. But I am reassured in knowing that there are still a lot of people who want to protect the democracy. Still, it is crazy to me that election deniers were elected to 200 seats in the House, Senate, and statewide races, nationwide.
He's been teasing an announcement on November 15. I would hope he would see the writing on the wall after yesterday. And surely Ron DeSantis is feeling emboldened for a run - I would think he could take on Trump (after yesterday). The problem for the GOP that started in 2008 was that they ran themselves as an anti-Obama party, obstructionists, without a policy agenda. So the 2016 primaries came along and you had a dozen nobodies who didn't really stand for a stated agenda and one TV reality show star. The TV guy won and the GOP still hasn't articulated a governing agenda.

I think it is fascinating how that played out. I think people support Warnock because they know he is serious and has served two years in the Senate, and isn't this unstable, knuckleheaded, bi-polar.
I think the "swing voters" who could easily vote for Warnock in that context may lean conservative (not talking the Trumpist crazies) but they saw in Kemp a Governor who stood up against someone trying to steal an election. Kemp may be conservative, but he showed some strong ethics there. And it also helps that he did that while there are a lot of fights over voting rights going on. He looks authentic in his behavior. It makes it easier for him to be more conservative because people won't question his motives. If Kemp had tried to help Trump it would have helped Abrams narrative in the campaign.
