Hes clearly not wanted outside of JK and Neff, why stay somewhere you are on the verge of being hated? He's financially secure at this point, why stick around until you become the villain? Do yourself and Clemson a favor, resign!

I know it's hard for some of you to give him credit for that, since he has become the hated villain around here. But he does love Clemson, otherwise he wouldn't be here.

the best thing he could do is resign so the University could hire a better coach.
His love of Clemson is admirable but totally irrelevant. After 13 season, it is abundantly clear that CBB is not the coach who can lead this program forward.

You're right just look at our basketball trophy case. No reason to challenge the status quo.
We've even got some posters here that have been calling for that admin to support the basketball program more. They do this for a living. We get what we get. They're the experts.

is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results. After 13 season, we've seen EXACTLY what we're going to get from CBB which is largely inconsistency and mediocrity. The Clemson administration, for whatever reason, choosing to ignore that doesn't change the fact that CBB is not a particularly good coach.

But as you say: irrelevant to the discussion.
Heck, I love Clemson! Can I be a mediocre basketball question for $2+ Million a year? I'd be happy to give it a go.

I love Clemson and want to see our athletic programs win. But, I know and realize I can't coach any of them. So, I don't apply or pretend to know I can coach.

I find it difficult to believe a person can love an institution and continue to embarrass it over and over with no apparent remorse.

We were having a good season, until the loss to Louisville. Then the 20 point loss to UVA. Then the loss to inferior Morehead st on our home court. That kinda takes away the food from the season for me. Could you imagine if Dabo lost to a team like Morehead st. at home? You would crucify him. We had better players and we were at home. I don’t understand how you don’t get that.

Because it simply isnt. The ACC was horrid this year. Horrid. Still didnt make the NCAAT. Got humiliated in the lowly NIT. Your logic is utterly dumbfounding.

No, the losses to Loyola, SC, Louisville, and Morehead St. are embarrassing to me. Not to mention the first round home NIT loss to Oakland where Clemson blew a 20-point lead. Or the home loss to BC last year where Clemson a 20+ lead.

He has no pride and will take the money as long as we keep foolishly paying him. Bounced out in the first game of the NIT at home - the committee knew we weren’t a big dance team. How much does Furmans coach get paid? Results do matter at other schools.

Or maybe it's because he's found a nice honey pot where average results produce consistent raises and extensions. I have certainly called him a mediocre coach but I have never accused him of being stupid.

Just curious how you know he loves Clemson?

I'm sincerely asking...I don't pay that much attention but I've not seen him doing anything that illustrates a love of Clemson. And "otherwise he wouldn't be here" is a silly thing to say. He is getting paid more at Clemson to coach a game than he would get paid literally anywhere else in the world (or maybe that's not the case and other teams have thrown more money at him and he has refused? Again, you would know better than me.). I am a proud Clemson alumnus but if South Carolina was the only school that would pay me nearly $2.5MM to do my job, you'd better believe I'd be there Monday morning.
Sorry - I am not trying to pile on here. Just curious.

If he loves Clemson and wants to see Clemson win more games, than maybe the best thing for him to do is resign. 13 years tells the tale: .500 in the ACC and about .575 overall.
