If this new 8 year contract with dabo is true

Jan 2, 2014, 3:25 PM

They might as well just give us the death penalty.

Dabo is doing his job!! I think he will get it done have some faith. Tommy never got us this far and Tommy never played a talented Chicken team before so I think Dabo is gonna fix it. I've been a fan for over 30 years and Tommy West, Tommy B or Ken Hatfield never had the success.
Fire Dabo and we loose our recruiting strength!!

i'd like to see him coach at least 1 year w/o chad morris. if chad leaves for baylor or vandy and our offense starts to sputter, we may be stuck w/ the wrong guy.

Me too, the game he called the plays in against USuC

Jan 2, 2014, 3:43 PM

is the one he WON.....................Napier and Morris did hot have that success.

Dabo has done a pretty fine job IMO

Jan 2, 2014, 3:52 PM

take away a few bloops & the dayum coots wins & overall he's been very successful & from a program standpoint we're standing tall.

i think it's sad that from many of our fans...sooo many, he catches the blame for everything bad & nothing good.

I was here & remember all those coaches as well & watching us choke when we shouldn't. we were very divided then too, especially with the last 3...so how is it that we can't see the forest for the trees & admit that things have improved in everyway...& yes we need to beat the coots.

but when we do beat them, probably next year, I hope everybody shuts up about it & gives them his support fully.

if we all recall USuCk didn't like losing when Slurrier 1st got there, but now that he's winning & has beaten us (after they gave him a very long chance to prove himself) he's brought the coots tegether & at least making their inferior minds THINK they're the best in the world.

Dabo's plan isn't to stop now, but to continue to get better at whatever cost, whether it's firing close friends or sharing the wealth to make us better & keep consistency. so who can honestly deny we aren't better off & heading up...?

Go Tigers!
ya gotta pay to play with the big boys!

MRTTMT

It doesn't matter how many years the deal is worth.

Jan 2, 2014, 3:50 PM

If he misses on the hire after Morris or keeps having teams that get embarrassed by the Gamecocks, he'll be removed. The agents tricked the AD's into saying their client needed long deals a long time ago. I think it used to be make sure he had 4 years so recruits would see stability. Maybe now they are saying show even longer since offers are being made to younger and younger players.

Re: It doesn't matter how many years the deal is worth.

Jan 2, 2014, 3:58 PM

very valid point!

if we keep up the good work those top recruits will continue to notice us & we'll get the ones we need to be an elite program.

the combo of a charismatic & pretty successful coach over the long term will pay out for us!
i don't think Morris is going anywhere anyways...not this year at least.

The ACC was much better during Tommy's tenure.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

you could argue

Jan 2, 2014, 4:14 PM

we have gotten better and the ACC has stayed the same.

Jan 2, 2014, 4:19 PM [ in reply to Re: '###### of the Day Nominee*** ]

in the last few years the ACC has broken records consecutive years for # of teams in bowl-games, & improved in out-of-conference wins (especially SEC)...

i don't get a coots love for Tommy Bowden...
UNLESS they're scared because they KNOW Dabo's doing a good job & will soon turn their little tide on'em

y'all should fear our program still & the direction we're heading under Dabo...

Go Tigers!

Spurrier's reign over Dabo ends in 2014. Dabo is a good

Jan 2, 2014, 4:17 PM

coach and I am glad we have him. Losing him would be a huge setback to our program. Hopefully we keep Venables and Morris.

Contracts can be broken by either party. If Clemson
puts a high buyout amount, then it could be bad.But
they do need too make him pay if he jumps ship.

Re: If this new 8 year contract with dabo is true

Jan 2, 2014, 7:39 PM

I sure hope the rumor is true as we need Dabo in order for our football program to succeed (or at least not fire him/force resign [which is common in sports as it can be a fire or resign scenario]). He in my book is the best coach in Clemson's history (3 good bowls in a row, 3 10 win seasons in a row, better recruiting than ever, etc.).

NFL- Green Bay Packers
NCAA- Michigan and Michigan State (formerly Clemson)
MLB- New York Yankees

I like Dabo! But not the best in our history

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I would not have him sign until after bowl game!

Jan 2, 2014, 7:40 PM

Let's see how we do first. Then let's talk
