Setting aside that the Bud Light claim is kind of ridiculous...
What the heck does that have to do with Bed, Bath, and Beyond, which has been circling the drain for years?
Big-box specialty retail has been getting killed for years by Amazon and, to a lesser extent, by the warehouse clubs. BB&B (like Borders Books) was over-inventoried and grew sales by opening new stores.
Once new store openings stopped, they never had the sales to justify the rents on the humongous spaces nor the merchandise that packed them. (Having worked in publishing for a quarter-century, a phrase that our CFO liked to use, "books as wallpaper" applies to places like BB&B, too.)
Not sure what that has to do with "woke," but I am sure someone will tell me.

These efforts at trying to explain away the loss to AB as having nothing to do with their boanheaded marketing scheme are patently ridiculous.
I do question the$5b figure, but their sales are down more than 17%, the idiot teenager who pushed this has been placed on leave of absence, apologies and replacement campaigns have followed. If those denying all this evidence are thinking post hoc propter hoc then nothing will convince them that many, many Americans do not believe in or like woke-ism being forced upon us.

What does painting a beer can "force" on you?
We would be getting the same reaction from the usual suspects if we went back 60 years and a black man's face was put on a beer can. They would be demanding apologies for having "woke" forced on them and thrown in their face.
