Is this country screwed in a few months?

Jul 2, 2016, 8:27 PM

Trump or Clinton. Loud mouth blow hole vs lair/crook. Trump doesn't have emotional stability and Hiliary will make position her personal piggy bank. How have we gotten to a point where these are our 2 choices. Scary really when you think about it. Still waiting for a 3rd to step in but clearly running out of time.

And yes I'm aware this isn't a football point. Eat it. Don't wanna hear about it.

I will add to that. If Hillary is elected, this country, as we knew it, is done. We will go the way of the Roman Empire. Throughout history, no empire has survived. End of rant.

Obama has never been qualified for the Presidency though. Bush's Iraq war policies are debatable, but Obama being on over-his-head as The President aren't.

His entire cabinet is made up of unqualified buffoons and political hacks (Holder, Clinton, Kerry, IRS Chief, Lynch, etc....). None of them are serious people who deserve any modicum of respect or admiration.

Our country is being run by incompetents who are "playing" President, Attorney General, etc... like kids play office, doctor, and cowboys & Indians growing up.

Anyone who thinks otherwise is simply mentally retarded.

we spent trillions while Chaney and his boys raked in the $$$$$$. It was complete and utter corruption that birthed ISIS for icing on top. I don't see how you get worse than that.

Now, I don't like Obama either. He kept some of the same economic advisers that Bush did and is pushing TPP. Hell Clinton did too until she was called out on it. She sucks too.

The country is a mess and it's not because of Obama either. It's corruption, it's too big to fail, it's Hillary and the Saudis, it's the banks, it's Citizen's United. I could go on but ultimately I agree with the OP. They both suck.

The reality is, you might as well vote for Magic Johnson.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The only reason Gary doesn't have a shot

Jul 3, 2016, 9:49 AM

is because people cling to a broken two party system that's provided us with Clinton and Trump as our two options.

Call it self-serving if you will, but if I can break even one person free from relying on a broken system to choose their candidate for them, and actually get someone to think for themselves, I'll consider it a victory.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Jul 3, 2016, 11:45 AM [ in reply to the ones who would truly do the best job as President ]

South Carolina voters would vote for him. I guess based on your "self serving" logic, that's what they should do. In a sense, everyone votes for the candidate that they think serves their self interest. That's why candidates spend so much effort trying to say what they think people want to hear. Sad part is, it usually works.

I can easily see that America will not survive as long as Rome & the Romans did, or the Greeks..

and some reasons are our leaders are corrupt, self-serving, for the Political Party & not the People (have become Emperor-like and not servants of WE The PEOPLE)..

and our stated tenets (Constitution) are being altered or being overrun..

Plus we are leaving GOD out of the mix (can be seen just in our majority belief that we know best time when to kill a Baby OR skirt around the morality of it by re-naming it (a tissue, a fetus, an almost person)..instead of being humans and calling the creation we have made a Human..

Plus the Majority of us are stuck on supporting a Political Party that we know has wrong agendas or platforms..

AND, we are COWARDS by not just saying NO, not raising our collective voice..that all of this BS is wrong!

Good-bye AMERICA! The Crazies & Immorals have won..it's called SIN!

Re: as a Clemson History major

Jul 3, 2016, 3:59 PM [ in reply to as a Clemson History major ]

The sad part of what you are saying Bill is. The two choices that we have we know are not the best for our country in anyway shape or form. But we don't have anyone willing to speak out to the people that has the financial means to get our voices out so that they're being heard as we the people don't like our choices, but feel that we are being forced to make a choice from two very bad choices. Our electoral system is design so that we have to accept the either Or choice. If nothing else, give we the people two choices from the Democratic party, two from the Republican party, and two in the Independent party bc I personally believe we had better choice than what we ended up with, but by the electoral rule, some of the better choices were forced out of the race. Act on the 2 each for each party, and see if we can get the best of what's there. Once these people that want to run for President see that it's no longer a two person either or presidential race, they better make sure that their closets are clean, and their voting history in the congress and the senate has been for what's the best for all Americans, they will no longer be able to run for president as a default candidate. Also stop the electoral vote opinions from making the choice of who will be the one candidate for what ever party!!! Because of people being loyal to their party, that alone has forced Americans to making bad choices for being the leader of our country for 4 long years, so we the people should have more than a single choice to lead our country. The system that has been failing for years has finally broke, and before it gets fixed, it could and can cause suffering for the American people like we have never seen or thought of before.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That would be interesting if that were the case, but..

Jul 3, 2016, 2:38 PM

people just think Trump is that much worse. The only thing I respect about Trump is his views on Muslims immigrating to the USA. I think that is the only area where most Americans don't find him so unlikable. Trump will lose by a substantial margin, because people dislike him even more than Hillary.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I was unaware that most people like his views on Muslims

Jul 3, 2016, 2:46 PM

Most people acknowkedge that people from certain countries and religious background should be vetted more closely, but I know few people who want to ban all Muslims from traveling to the U.S.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Not all, and he said not all.

Jul 3, 2016, 2:52 PM

Most Americans generally don't want more immigrants from Muslim countries. That is a given and lock and his shown over and over again in polls. Even Time magazine had the majority of Americans opposing the Syrian refugees and that was in 2015. That is the only area where most Americans agree with Trump. That's not enough to get someone elected.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You are 100% correct. Here is a stat for you..

Jul 3, 2016, 3:42 PM [ in reply to Re: I was unaware that most people like his views on Muslims ]

Most admit it, but it's even worse than that, because we know everyone doesn't want to admit it. In 2015 just those who admitted it to the Brookings institute showed that 61% of Americans have an unfavorable view if Islam. Imagine it now. The majority do not want more Muslims, even liberals such as myself. It's not a smart call.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Just Trump's stance on that issue is enough to vote for him

Good enough for me.

Fiscally conservative governor who vetoed a lot of wasteful legislation and balanced their budget, while at the same time being socially "don't give a da*n" as he likes to call it. Which fits my personal philosophy.

I'm sure there are people who will vote for him simply because he's not the other two, but I genuinely believe in his stances for the most part. There's a few things here or there, but I never expect to fully agree with someone. But there's part of my problem with Clinton and Trump... there's very little for me to agree with. And I would only consider "throwing my vote away" voting for someone that I don't have any faith in.

Jul 4, 2016, 11:03 AM [ in reply to No, if we weren't screwed when W Bush was President... ]

Let me help you out here TigerKing79

According to your logic (and the far-left-wingers) people that you disagree with should be demonized. So, if Trump is everything that you say then turnabout is fair play. According to your logic that makes Hillary a real nasty piece of work:

Hillary Clinton:
An angry feminist who's biggest accomplishment so far is that she's married to a man, Bill Clinton who was impeached for lying to Congress, and is a misogynist.
An elitist who secretly loathes Blacks, Jews, and Men
Entitled
A rug-munching lesbian
A liar
An incompetent
A private sector failure
A fascist
A socialist
Really dumb

It also makes Barak Obama a nasty guy.

Barak Obama:

A racist and Black Supremacist who hates white people
A fascist and race-baiting divider of the American people
Not a U.S. citizen
An entitled elitist who's used his skin color to reach every station of life he's achieved
A homosexual
An incompetent
A communist
A failure who's never earned $1 in the private sector
A failure who's plays "the race-card" to stifle dissent, intelligent conversation, and progress
A one-world government conspirator to circumvent the Constitution the rights of American Citizens
A secret Muslim and a co-conspirator of radical Muslim groups
An Enemy of the Constitution and The United States of America

So obviously, anybody who likes either of those candidates must be a stupid, useless, racist, angry, corrupt, freedom loathing, free-market hating, and a left-wing fascist. Bomb-throwing is easy and anybody can do it.

TigerKing79, when you initiate this sort of junk on Tigernet it makes you look like an imbecile.

Trump is a con-artist with a history of screwing partners, investors, creditors, and employees. I don't really see that snake changing his skin and not screwing us.
