So Dawgs think DC Pruitt will be the X-Factor against us.

Jun 12, 2014, 1:59 PM

Whose playing defense? The same flopping thugs that got worn the eff out last year? Who's playing in the secondary? The waterboy? FSU's defense was infinitely more talented than what Georgia will field against us this year. And since most of them weren't smart enough to get into Clemson or FSU (which is saying a lot) I seriously doubt they will have his scheme down by game one.

Also, I read where a guy said we couldn't tackle a hurt Gurley. Not only could we tackle him, WE HURT HIM. Claim beast status when you can FINISH a football game. Gurley isn't even the best RB on their team.

I tried to register with my same username only to remember I got banned over there from my antics following the LSU game after they talked so much smack prior to the game.

I do think he will help their defense this year. They were

garbage last year. Not because they don't have talent, but because they didn't know how to tackle or fill the right spots, or knock a hail mary pass down.

But I think our defense will greatly outplay their defense, it will take Pruitt a few games to get their defense going, I hope.

Gurley is a great RB and I would take him in a heartbeat.

He may help, but it's hard to help from Game 1

Coordinators rarely start off with a great game, the team has to get a feel for the defense they are running first. This may actually work for us, somewhat

His scheme isn't easy to learn so there will be some growing pains. Also to your point on the talent he had at FSU, they had way better players than UGA has this year. Especially the D line and secondary. FSU's secondary was elite and our WRs could never create much space.

he was a first year coach at fsu last year and we played them early. but I agree, I think the talent level was better than Georgia's last year. he is for sure an upgrade over grantham. he will help Georgia if he stays.

timmy jernigan said that they didn't really have a full grasp for the defense until week 6

But look for the exact same schemes that FSU played against us.

I'm glad Joyner is gone. That kid's a frickin' gamer.

I think Joyner was the difference maker last year against us. If he wasn't causing a fumble or getting a sack, he was in our WR's face and made it difficult for Boyd to get anything off. Joyner was definitely the biggest reason we were held to such a low point total last year. The leg humpers don't have anyone near as good as him. UGA did move one of their RB's to DB during the spring to help out. J.J. Green is a playmaker and he'll be really good but no Joyner.

Agreed. If Joyner was 3 inches taller, he probably would have been a top 8 pick. Much like Honey Badger without some of the off-field stuff. It's gonna be crazy seeing him and Janoris Jenkins on the field together.

I'm hoping that Alexander MacKensie plays the same way for us....

Uh, Gurley is the best RB on their team, he is a beast...

but he will get crushed this season against us.

LOl...your defense allowed more total yardage than ours. Pruitt's scheme is a lot less complicated than Grantham's. At the very least we'll be lined up before the ball is snapped. Our Dline can play with anyone and our LBers led by 1st teamer AA Ramik Wilson is projected as the SEC's best. The secondary is a work in progress but not devoid of talent....and yes we'll be ready come game one.

Lmao at you flaming Gurley but I gotta ask.....who is our best RB?

We're DOOMED!

UGA slaughtered GT in their next to last game.

Our only hope is that they'll overlook us gearing for usc.

now gentleman....traditionally instate rivals are always tough match-ups unless of course your rival is South Carolina. btw, what is clemson's record versus Ga Tech?

Our record is like 93-4 against them I think. Why do you ask besides the fact that you have a small package?

you missed it by a hair.....and I asked because the gentleman ridiculed GA for trailing GT.
