instead of using corn to feed the world and not driving up prices and then forcing farmers to grow corn to actually make money.
So yeah, you all ruined that one too.

i am going with 1. Gubmint approved gas can, with nozzles that dont work so they are removed and more fuel enters the groundwater through increased spillage. 2. Ethanol

Man I wish I had a dime for every time I’ve said that about those gas can nozzles!!!! They last a week! I then take them off and pour diesel onto the ground trying to fill my tractor. I actually call them democrat gas cans. They make me cuss every time.

Agree.
How many billions have Americans spent on ruined yard equipment due to ethanol? Many! Most people don't realize if you use ethanol gas in yard tools its life will be shortened dramatically. Ethanol attracts and holds water - causes steel to rust. I generally buy non-ethanol gas for everything.
Plus, the energy from burning ethanol is less compared to 'merican gas-o-line.
Stupid push by the libbies.

Are the farmers' lobbyist liberals?

[ in reply to well, Liberals pushed ethanol onto everyone ] |

I'd guess not. Farmers love to plant corn and get paid extra for it through gubmint subsidies.
The farmers lobby LOVES ethanol; it's not the save the environment folks, and certainly not the consumers.

with tobacco all but gone and cotton being sourced so heavily out of India, China and Bangladesh, you have to plant corn. Its the only choice.
The soy boys are also ruining the milk industry too.

yes and you can get much more yield per acre
May 17, 2021, 2:11 PM

however, if they were getting subsidized to grow say, wheat, they would be planting it like a champ. Or even cotton, cotton can give a high yield too, but we are outsourcing so much, there is no reason to big on cotton.
Liberals basically screw up everything they touch.
Watch the farmer subsidies that Trump put in place be slashed by Biden, could almost guarantee it without looking it up.

Trump defined a tax credit for farmers growing corn (or really, extended it), and you are saying Biden will slash it..but it's liberals screwing up whatever they touch?
Are you in favor of taking food and converting it to gasoline?

for it when its for the wrong reasons. This was all climate change based. Subsidize farmers to grow cotton, sorghum, barley...whatever so that we do not have to prop up other economies. Lets prop up our guys and be self sustaining.
Right now, there is no money in it and I am saying that I could see Biden slashing subsidies on a whim cause Trump increased them.....its their modus operandi

Ethanol in gas origin had nothing to do with "climate change"
May 17, 2021, 4:15 PM
|
|
Ethanol was first used used in gasoline as a replacement for MTBE, an oxygenator added to gasoline that was supposedly found leaching into ground water. The farm lobby saw that ethanol was going to be a replacement for it, and 100% got behind its tax credits (they aren't called subsidies any more, but they really are) growth and production full force. It first started as "gasohol", the 10% and now 15% laced gasoline are sold anywhere gasoline is.
The climate change folks want nothing to do with it, as it takes so much more oil based derivatives to produce ethanol, that it's a net loss from a carbon footprint perspective.
If you want to blame anyone for ethanol's mandatory inclusion at the gas pump, blame the farmers. They did it.

Jews are not hated in General. Israel is rightfully getting called out for illegally occupying a territory and committing human rights abuses. You guys always seem to look past this.

Which, fascinatingly, has conditions that very much resemble what Apartheid used to look like in South Africa, so there's that.
The manner that the IDF does peacekeeping in Gaza is literally referred to as "mowing the lawn." Wait for new weeds to sprout, then lop them off again. Rinse and repeat, ad nauseum.
That's literally their policy.
And you wonder why peace hasn't sprouted from the Earth over there. Gosh, I wonder. How are things ever supposed to get better if the Israelis regard the Palos as so many weeds to just be perpetually plowed under?

Illegally occupying land? You realize they gave up Gaza willingly years ago.
And a bigger issue- you think Israel has human rights abuses over and above Hamas?? What world are you living in?
