Miami's ranking is inflated so Bama can have a ranked win early to go alone with Clemson's.

In reality yes. The ACC needs FSU to return to prominence along with Louisville Ga. Tech and perhaps Pittsburg to make us stronger over all.
The Conference also need to make a firm decision on Notre Dame; ie either "ALL-IN" or don't let the door hit you in the rear on the way out.

ACC is an excellent conference with parity (except for Clemson).
Every conference has a couple great teams and the rest are average.
A conference is more than just football. I hate that, but it is true.

ACC weak maybe- is the SEC over rated for sure.
The way that the SEC stays as highly ranked as they do is inflation of rankings.

If Clemson won the National Championship and followed that up with a 5-5 recorded- they would never sniff the top 25 to start the year- LSU- not the same.

If Clemson was always winning the recruiting battle for top classes-like Georgia and then always under-preformed- they would be punished.

The SEC is Alabama as much as the ACC is Clemson- end of story.
No matter how much the ACC improves- it will be second class.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Georgia's schedule you ask?

Aug 16, 2021, 3:02 PM

outside of Clemson, they play two, yes TWO teams that had winning records against power 5 opponents. Auburn and Florida. SEC is VERY over rated.

You really don’t want to go down the Strength of Schedule road

Aug 16, 2021, 4:49 PM

Besides Georgia, we play a very weak schedule this year. Not our fault, it’s just a reflection on the state of affairs in the ACC.
We just need to beat UGA decisively instead of getting into the “you don’t play anybody” argument with them, because that’s an argument we lose.

You got that right.
Every year in preseason many of the Blue Bloods get an undeserved bump in the polls just due to ancient history.

If I were KING - the new season polls would start out where the last season's poll ended as teams earned that.

The rest of the teams in the ACC...

Aug 16, 2021, 4:31 PM

all have a VERY LONG way to go to be on par with Clemson just like the rest of the SEC has a very long way to go to be on par with Bama.

Miami won't end up in the top 10.

Re: Is the ACC really that weak with

Aug 16, 2021, 4:42 PM

The answer is no as the ACC is not the best conference but is also not the worst. We also know that the SEC has Bama and a couple of good teams but beyond that the other tag along teams are no better than the teams in the other conferences.
