Poignant on the " Dabo got paid because he took a pay cut for his assistant coaches " comment .
His coaches have been faithful , and that as much as anything during this rise to the top has it's mark on our championship rings .
Good people , happy where they are and working their buttz off for tou because they know how invested in them you are .

Mack is a bonafide kiss up. I do know several guys who had sons play at Texas when Mack was there and the man is smooth with parents. He won't be a threat to Clemson, but the man can recruit.

Maybe so but, with Mack at the age of 67 as he is now, and taking over a NC Tar Head team that is close to the bottom of the ACC, and most recruits and their parents know that Mack will probably be gone long before they are ready to challenge for major championships, and most top recruits want that to be a possibility within their 3 years that most top recruits will only be at a program!!!

When Mack recruits it's because he's a kiss up. When Dabo recruits it's because he's more genuine? Just trying to understand where you're coming from. I mean, don't you think folks would see through Mack's alleged phonyness?

No, I would not assume that most would see through his well crafted spill; most people when flattery is aimed at them, by a master like Brown, experience a mild form of euphoria and it is this, along with ego, that prevent "clear vision".

Good grief. Mack Brown could not even win in the easy Big 12 with 5-star players all over the roster. I do not expect much from him. If UNC beats UofSuc, then UofSuc needs to leave the SEC and try the Conf-USA or some weaker conference.

Mack is the best example of a CEO coach maybe ever. He's a gifted, smooth political operator with alumni groups, rich boosters and parents. His best skill is reading people and saying what they want to hear. This is why he recruited so well at UT before becoming lazy, arrogant and defensive.
Like I said in another thread, Mack should recruit well for a couple of years but success on the field all depends on how good his assistants are. The environment at UT got pretty stale/soft near the end.
He won't last more than 2, maybe 3 years. If Manny Diaz disappoints, maybe they can win the Coastal Division once.

That Coach Brown will be the Tarheel coach until the next bright,can’t miss coach emerges on the scene and the Heels will gobble him up and let him have the recruits that will already be on board. They likely have their eye on several young coaches being groomed right now. Hope none are Tigers
