His health has been declining. I don’t think he will walk away completely but can see him in a much diminished role.

Let’s hope he is gone! He is the most prejudiced announcer in college football. Soooo tired of him and his cronies (including Herbstreet who incidentally sent his kids to Clemson) thinking Ohio State is the be all, end all of college football. Even with all the SEC admiration that ESPN has, they just drool over OSU! Whatever happened to unbiased??? We need new blood in announcers booths.

I agree. Mcafee tries way too hard to turn everything into a wrestling skit. It got old in week 2. Ok that's a lie, it was week 1. On the original topic, they're going to roll him out there as long as he wants I think, and hope. He helped make Gameday what it is. Yes its tough to see his decline but I dread the day they take it away from him, for soon after that day he's gone I'm betting. It's like an old married couple, when one loses the other they usually aren't long for the world after.
