Is it just South Carolina or are there other brutal rivals..

I see the board is full of South Carolina, coot( what's that ?) and Gamecock threads. I know Georgia is coming the first game and they seem like rivals. Is there any ACC rivals that you feel that strong about. These are SEC teams and that alone is enough but what about the ACC and the rivals there. Maybe in order if you will. I gotta know who they are sooner or later. Is this truly a basketball conference because I get the feeling you guys are more football than anything else. You have a great baseball program too. I hear a lot of things but you never know what the truth is. UNC boards are the most arrogant so far.

The Florida State rivalry is strong, with its roots in the puntrooskie game.
The GT rivalry goes all the way back to when they hired John Heisman away from us.
NC State and BC are both played for trophies, but I don't feel much hatred for either school.
UGA would be a much bigger rivalry if we played more.

So are Georgia Tech and FSU. However, Clemson fans don't have to deal with them as often as they do us Gamecocks.
That coupled with the fact that we've won lately means a few are feeling on the borderline of desperate for their team to beat South Carolina again. So they post a lot about us here.
I personally don't like much of the Gamecock fan base either, despite supporting the school. That's the main reason why I am here. I understand the disdain they have for the Gamecocks. Being out of state also means this is about my only interaction with people in state about football and other athletics.
But yeah, UGA, GT, and FSU also get the "royal treatment" especially during game weeks.
And a coot is a goofy looking harmless waterfowl that's kind of like a duck only uglier.

Pointers are even-tempered, congenial dogs, happiest living indoors as part of the family. Pointers are affectionate and loyal. Their aggression level is very low to nonexistent and they can happily coexist with other dogs and often cats. They are typically not territorial, although their size and bark will intimidate most people who come to their door. Pointers are very good with children, although young children and a clumsy young Pointer are often not the best combination.
Guess this is how I'm able to happily coexist with all you other dogs.

Thanks....I find it interesting that you are a Gamecock who doesn't like his fan base. There are jerks in every fan base including ours. I think you make a mistake when you try to pigeon hole an entire fan base based on a few. There are fans on here that other fans on here warned me about so I take the arrogant loud mouths with a grain of salt. They will be the first to jump ship when things are rough. We took that hit after Alabama stomped us. The fans were all over the players and coaches....the same ones that could do no wrong the weeks before. If you can see good and the faults in your program then you are a true fan. To think anything else is not realistic.

mostly. You post anything that doesn't smack of Steve Spurrier walking on water or voice the possibility that the media ISN'T out to trash the team and suddenly you're a tater who never gave a dime to the school and should be banned for life because... taters should be banned or some nonsense like that (tater is the official Gamecock nickname for Clemson fans, btw since they are the aggie school). I can at least have intelligent conversation on this board most days.

I've never heard of a grain of slaw. Salt has grains, I am sure that slaw doesn't...lol. Maybe it's a regional thing. I have heard grain of salt my whole life.

Maybe so....I have lived outside of South Bend since I graduated but I still have ex teammates and family in the area. I plan on at least one game there this year myself, so I will be calling on favors. That is a tough ticket to get without some inside help. My parents are season ticket holders and I can't even get one from them...lol.

regularly in case I need to assault someone and steal their ticket on gameday. I would prefer not to though since I am already on parole and would have to return to jail if I'm caught leaving the state without permission. The assault charge probably wouldn't go over very well, either.
Anyway, let me know if you can help. Really would like to catch that game.

Its a water chicken. USCeast fans blow hard.
Besides that, FSU is pretty tough, just because of the consistency (I use this term VERY loosely with regards to Clemson in the last decade) with the two programs and the "Bowden Bowl" back when those coaches were still around.
GTech are nerds. They hate us more then we hate them I think.
UGA was big in the 80's but we don't play them much. Most recent grads including myself don't really "get" the rivalry because we just don't play them. Also Athens and Clemson are less than 2 hours apart.

we have a little more of a friendly rivalry with BC. FSU is probably our biggest football rivalry right now, but mostly because they've been the biggest competition.

4. UGA (Play them twice a decade, can't put them above top 3)
5. BC (Due to 2007)
6. UNC (Don't play them at ton in football, but we sure don't like them)
