I have the same name and I'm interested to see which one they call him.
Joseph always gets shortened to Joe so I'm assuming Joe ?!

On Instagram he goes by Goatseph so we can just call him that.

... I played soccer at Clemson 78-80 and we had a lot of Nigerians that played on their National Team (Green Eagles then, now called the Super Eagles). Their names normally are not shortened although nicknames sometimes stick. Benedict Popoola was not called Ben (nickname Popsie due to his receding hairline  ), Joseph Awesu (no nickname), Vincent Chika (no nickname), Arthur Ebunam (no nickname), Emmanuel Egede (no nickname).
There could be a big difference, however, in that the Nigerians that I played with all grew up overseas.

professional life. I can't tell you how many times it gets shortened to Joe to my chagrin. It's already happened to me at work twice today! It's half of the reason for my username! The other half, of course, is that I'm just a regular Joe.

Same here, gets shortened all the time! I was Joseph all throughout grade school, until college and then Joe stuck for good because that’s what I got called at Clemson. I got called Joe so much I just decided to keep it
