because female enrollment is increasing at Clemson and they have to comply with title 9?
They cut men's wrestling back in the day when they were good. They tried to get rid of men's track and field.

I wonder if men’s wrestling or if track and field are ‘profitable’ mens sports? I doubt it, but regardless…are you implying that a public university that chooses to participate in sports should not attempt to provide equal opportunity for male and female alike?

Football and men’s basketball are the only profitable sports on campus.

Everything else - baseball, women’s basketball, softball, soccer, track, cross country, crew, tennis, etc. lose money and are subsidized by football and men’s basketball.

At most schools due to the very high costs and team size.
And to answer the OP’s question yes. Clemson used to be like 55% male but it will be 53% female in the upcoming year

Seems that we could just get some of the men on various teams to identify as women and solve the representation problem. Our women's basketball team would probably make the Final 4 if we used men-identifying-as-women. Heck, we could have the first all-female football team in the CFP if we can just have all the players identify as women.
It's worked for Penn swimming.

Just watch and see as one day there will be seats added out there in right field and maybe deep center field also,seats on both sides of the scoreboard.That first regional that Clemson host,the athletic administration will see that there will be a high demand for people wanting a ticket and it will be like that for many many years to come.
