Is 38-35 really a spanking?

This seems to be a popular line coming from fleabags to help them fall asleep at night. Apparently they didn't watch the same football game as I did, so I'll try to dumb it down with an analogy to see if they can understand why that game was more of a beatdown than the score indicates.
It was kind of like watching one of those boxing/ufc matches where at the end, fighter #1 looks the same as he did pre-fight, and fighter #2 looks like he went 9 rounds with a woodchipper. Yet despite how much of a beatdown fighter #2 took, the score on the cards remains pretty close.
This is how the game played out last year, Clemson (fighter #1) came out of that game unscathed, while Georgia (fighter #2) came out with half their starting lineup either injured, or faking injuries. At one point I remember actually feeling kind of bad for that Herrera guy as he was laid out next to the sideline for about 5 minutes with play suspended, surrounded by trainers. Then about five plays later, he was back on the field....
So when we say you got spanked last year, we aren't referring to the scoreboard....even though that was icing on the cake, we are referencing the physical dominance a lowly ACC team asserted on an SEC "powerhouse".

It's a two sided answer...if you are an SEC team and an ACC team whips you with this score, then it's not a spanking. However, if you as an SEC team whip an ACC team with this score, then it is a spanking. That's how the Coots and other SEC teams see it....GO TIGERS!

I wouldn't really make it an ACC vs SEC thing, just throwing that in for fun. In the orange bowl, we whipped up on the hurtin' buckaroos and still only came away with a 5 point win.

We hided 'em . Took 'em over our knee and tore that puppy @$$ up with a bare hand. What we did to them is animal cruelty in all 50 States + Puerto Rico . They got thoroughly and completely whipped in front of all those good people in the stands of Death Valley ...and beyond in TV land.
Mark Richt is still sleeping with the light on and Spurrier has to tuck him in on the phone so that he doesn't keep the missus up. Sometimes the mattress gets wet , other times he makes it to his potty seat.
The Dawgs look at Clemson as a bully , they avoid walking down our street and if they see us coming at them they immediately go stand beside an adult until we are long gone.
It is clearly an unhealthy dynamic between us . They need to get therapy .

the clock. So 38-28 was the best they could do when we were trying. Double digit margin can be considered a spanking. The real spanking was what the loss meant to their post-season aspirations.

After the first three possessions that they scored on, they scored a single touchdown (not counting the last meaningless touchdown when Clemson was ahead by 10 and a couple of minutes or so is left).

If he was like the other "injuries", he was back in after only one play. They had a defensive guy go down once per quarter (is that the quota) and I think he was always back one play later. We had uga folks in front of us and they started to get a little offended by the booing of their guys who were hurt. In the 4th qtr, I told him to watch the guy after he went off the field. After one play when he stood on the sidelines, he sprinted back on the field. uga fan had no response.

There was definitely more than one per quarter, seemed like at least one per drive. Herrera just stood out to me because of how long she was down for, I figured at the least she pulled her vag and would miss a few plays....Nope
And don't even get me started on Ms Floyd...

Think about it this way, in basketball you could either A) dribble around the defender and lay it up, or B) drive straight at the defender and jam it down his throat. Both are worth 2 points, but one is a lot more impressive than the other.
We may have only won by 3 points, but I was a heck of a lot more impressed by our tigers than the mutts.
If you don't get basketball references maybe golf?..Tin Cup...nice par?

They had more yards, more yards per play, and the game was tied midway through the 3rd quarter would have been again at the end of the 3rd if they hadn't flubbed the hold on the fg.
Our defense picked it up a bit late in the game and allowed us to grab a 10 pt lead, but letting them go straight down the field in 5 plays and almost turn it into a game again was disappointing.
Who cares what would have happened if we played another 2 quarters.

as a loose term for more yards, more points, ect...then some simple reading comprehension would go a long way for you. Not what I'm implying. Was it a close game statistically? Yes, I'm not denying that. But physically? You weren't watching the same game I was if you don't think we took em behind the shed and spanked that a$$. Bone crushing sacs, receivers running straight over their secondary, and lots of dogs crawling off the field at the end of the day if I remember correctly.

the game.
They were very good early, scoring on 3 straight drives. After that, they went 6 possessions with 1 first down and 2 turnovers.
Then when the game was about to get out of hand, they faked a punt and changed their playcalling to more quick passes b/c their OL couldn't block us. They hit some plays b/c our secondary wasn't that great, and they scored on that drive.
Another decent drive that ended inside our 5, because the big, strong SEC offense couldn't pound it in with 3 tries, and then they flubbed the fg.
When they had a chances to stay in the game, they were held and punted twice.
We gave up a garbage td b/c Venables backed off the rush, and Murray eats that shyte up.
The dawgfans are holding on to the 3 points, but the outcome was known well before the end of the game.
