Interesting stat.

Nov 24, 2022, 1:29 PM

There are ZERO living gamecock fans who have seen a winning record against Clemson. Whether 1 or 100, nobody.

And none present or future ever will

Well at some point they'll win again, maybe :)

Yep, looking at the historic record, SCAR won the first meeting to take 1-0 lead in the series in 1896.

Near as I can tell, that's the only time they've ever had an overall winning record against Clemson, as Clemson won the 2nd meeting, in 1897, to tie the series, then won the next 3 in a row, too, to take a 4-1 lead in the series and never looked back. Indeed, the Tigers won 15 of the next 20 games (and tied one), including a 6-peat, running out to a 15-4-1 record.

Tigers won 7 in a row in the 30's, then SCAR had its first real string of success, going 7-2-1 from 1946 to 1954. SCAR fans laud their "5-bomb", but forget that Clemson won 4-in-a-row twice in the ten years preceding that streak, and of course Clemson is riding its 2nd 7-game streak in the series.

At the current record of 72–42–4, SCAR would need to win 30 in a row to take the lead for only the 2nd time ever.

If SCAR could manage to increase their winning percentage from 0.356 to a full 0.750 over Clemson in future games, it would take another 60 games to tie the series (at 87-87-4).

How much winning will they have to have, before they stop throwing trash onto their own field on National TV?

When they are WINNING the game***

Well, Thank You. Not necessary, but Thank You.

Plus we should play the next 60 games at Death Valley. For equity.***

My youngest had a losing record vs SCAR for a second or two, and now should never have to worry about that ever again. I think the middle child got to a .500 record, but never worse.

I started my life 0-3 vs coots; my wife started 0-1. I was 10 before I had a lifetime winning record vs SCAR.
