Funny thing, he didn't even want that much.

Said he wanted half that and take 400k and hire more coaches. The administration laughed at him and said he couldn't do that.

But what they found out was he meant off the field coaches. He saw what Alabama (and a few other teams) were doing and knew Clemson needed more people doing more work to put a better product on the field.
