indoor facility - not going to be done on time?

Jul 30, 2012, 10:02 PM

Does anyone know when the contractor was originally supposed to be done with the indoor facility? Went by there recently and there is no way that thing is going to be ready for fall camp and I question whether it will be done by the end of September for the team to use....maybe I'm wrong here, but they have quite a bit to go for the thing to pass code and be ready for use for 2012 season.

I read this past winter where they were targeting December

for completion. Could be they're actually ahead of schedule. No worries.

was originally scheduled for completion in December. They're experiencing delays in getting the steel. They still hope to be complete in time for bowl practice

I believe TDP or Dabo said there was a problem with steel delivery that set them back a little. They'll probably catch up over the next few months though.

Friend works for the civil engineering firm contracted out to do it. The delays are true, but they get a bonus for it being done by the South Carolina game, and they still think they might be able to do that.

It was never supposed to be done...

by the time practice started. It's been shoved ahead of more important projects as it is.

The University placed the construction and completion of the football teams indoor practice facility ahead of the $7 million addition to Doug Kingsmore Stadium that will include a three-level building on the stadium's north side with player amenities, locker rooms, a lobby, team areas, meeting space, a gallery, coaches offices, a player's lounge, and a viewing platform.
