The development of Defensive Ends under Lemanski Hall, has been nowhere close to the level of Marion Hobby.

Clemson doesn't care about basketball....as evidenced by Brown-L getting 14 years.

End does seem to me like a position that doesn't show much growth from our higher-end recruits the last few years, but the 3* guys seem to respond better. Not sure if coaching or players already near ceiling. Also, and please correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems Simpson was used primarily as a pass-rusher/run-stopper, not a coverage guy, which is Carter's role. Seems to me that whichever writer wrote about Simpson may have looked more at numbers on paper and less at actual play.

Kinda looks like the ‘22 D-line

have been a little bit exposed. I’ve often thought that while they all had their moments, it seems like to me that they were not always running at full throttle all the time. The potential to overcome DJU’s issues could have been enough if the Defense had lived up to its hype.

Murphy: Can be a great DE in the NFL if he plays with the passion and nastiness he demonstrated as a freshman (and sometimes during his 2nd year). Last year, he was in cruise control. If he carries that into the NFL, he won't make an impact in the NFL. If he plays like he cares, we'll hear about him a lot.

Simpson: I love him to death; much more than Myles. But, honestly, like Myles, Trenton is another supreme athlete who doesn't make as many plays on the field as he should. I'm not sure if it's poor instincts or anticipation or something else. I have some doubts about him in the NFL, especially at OLB, where "reading the mind" of the QB is so important. He needs a veteran MLB who can put him in the right place all the time.

Just my 2 cents. I want both guys to succeed, represent Clemson well and break the bank on their second contract.

Just the type of thing I was saying

Gotta live up to the hype to get paid (or win championships).
