Best games or best teams? Never understood why ESPN elevated this game. USC and Texas had weak D’s and Matt Leinart, Reggie Bush and Vince Young showed their skill sets in NFL. On crucial play of game and every pass and scramble, Young runs right. USC never figures out tendency and loses game.

I really don't know how you distinguish between USC/Texas and the 2017 national championship, much less have 21 games in between. Neither the semifinal nor the 2015 final were better than 2017. Both were tremendously exciting but nether went down to the last second.

This is the differentiation between USC/Texas and other games — more ESPN viewers in Texas and California. There endeth the analysis.

The USC - Texas Natty was fine and dandy but I feel like it's mostly elevated because you had two blue bloods that had an epic match up.

Idk how you don't have the Clemson - Alabama back to back natty games higher -- will we even come close to that anytime soon the way that set up? Idk how you have a build up like that again and glad I got to be alive and aware enough to witness that series.

Anyhow, here's to hoping Clemson gets to have some more epic matchups in the 2020s we win to continue to build on what the 2010s produced
