"Wake up people, we are not among college football's elite, we only had a couple good seasons blah blah blah"
Stop it. Who IS elite then?
Alabama? Who's only gone undefeated ONCE in their 3 NC seasons?
Georgia or LSU? Two teams we've beaten in the last year that have multiple losses this season already?
Stanford? Who's lost to an unranked team each of the last two seasons?
Auburn? Who went 11-14 in the two seasons following their NC season?
We have the talent, facilities, fanbase, and coaching that can match just about every program in the country, with a couple exceptions in each area....not bad for a program that seemed to be in turmoil less than five seasons ago.
A loss to a team that is currently #2 in the BCS standings (albeit, a bad loss) is nothing to panic over. Yes, it was disappointing. No, we didn't play our best. But you know what? We're a heck of a lot better off than getting beat by Vanderbilt.
Our success over the past 3 seasons HAS put us in the class of the top 10-15 programs in the country, and there's no arguing that. But let's be realistic for a minute. There's only ONE champion at the end of the season, and that champion rarely goes undefeated. Yeah, we may have missed out on our shot this year, but the season is not lost. Having national championship expectations every year doesn't mean that we can't be happy with having a fine season, like going 11-2 and winning a BCS bame. (Although I do admit, we NEED to start beating the coots regularly again)
We have three conference games left to play. We have our rivalry game to play. And if all goes as it should, we will have a BCS game to play for. We could potentially end up in the top 3-5. And who knows....if FSU sh!ts the bed and loses to Miami and somebody else, we could play for a conference championship too.
Dabo says it takes a string of good seasons to have that one truly special team that could win it all. We're all mad and p!ssed because we thought this was the year. But you know what? That special season might be right around the corner. We have elite talent continuing to come in. We have coaches and administration that are COMMITTED to winning, and will continue to pump money and resources into the football program.
So lighten up, Francii....enjoy where we are. There are 110 other D-1 programs that would love to be ranked where we are right now. The season goes on and the Tigers will continue to win.

As much as I enjoyed watching the coots lose last week, I want them to win out so they will be ranked higher when we beat em!

I would prefer that they're 0-11 every year that we face them. If the ACC is stronger as a whole it will boost our SoS. Run that table and it won't matter what the coots are.

Last year we lost 2 out the 3 games we played against real teams. So far this seaons we are 1-1. Losing 2 out 3 big games a year is not elite. Hopefully we finish strong.

not many teams have been able to do in the last 5 years, and they absolutely crushed OU in the Cotton Bowl. They were clearly getting better as the season went on and i don't think anybody wanted a piece of them by the end of the season. They aren't the same team this year though. Their D was pretty decent last year, it's horrible this season.

east this year. Mizzou hasn't lost a game. Perception-wise the favorite has changed a couple of times, but it really hasn't been anything like a couple of ACC seasons where every time a team took the division lead they lost the following week.

We have the talent, facilities, fanbase, and coaching that can match just about every program in the country, with a couple exceptions in each area....
I agree that we are not #1 in these areas, but want to get your thoughts.

Talent - Alabama, FSU, Oregon, UGA, Southern Cal
Facilities - Oregon, Texas, Alabama, LSU, several others that are on par with Clemson
Coaching - Alabama, Ohio ST, Kansas ST
Fanbase - I'd say Clemson's is as strong as any in the country, but programs like Michigan, Ohio St, Texas, seem to have the bigger fanbases across the country (Likely b/c of bandwagoners)

Fan base is also limited by enrollment.
Like the fact that Clemson has 16ish thousand undergrads and places like Ohio State have over twice that.
