I'm somewhat surprised we are #4

Oct 31, 2017, 7:54 PM

I was not sure CFP committee would consider KB2 injury in our loss.

Yea honestly

Before last night I did not consider it too much either but then I was like they are right we lost on a short week, on Friday the 13th, without our QB1, to a gimmicky offense.

It helped that Auburn and VT both in the top 15 too.

A thought experiment could be what if Notre Dame (in the future) were to beat X amount of top 10 teams but also had Y amount of losses. It only works for Notre Dame bc of their ability to schedule whoever they want but it puts to test how much the CFP Committee Value who you beat vs overall record. I think it would take X = 1.5Y to make it so 3 losses would require 4-5 top 10 wins.

I was hoping for a #5, but #4 is freaking awesome BUT still

I did...knew they would look at it if you read their protocol. Besides, here's a fact no one is thinking about....2015...OU got in with a bad loss, to an eventual 5-7 ranked Texas. So people can't change viewpoint now thinking it was okay for OU but not Clemson.

We should have been #3. Our SOS it overwhelming right now. The BB committees always take into account players lost and returning.

Me too but I honestly can't put any of the big 10 teams ahead of us. I don't think any of them are better than us. In fact I can't think of anyone else that I could honestly put in the four spot ahead of us. The committee ranked 1-4 exactly the way I would at this point. If it's incorrect there's a lot of football left to play to get it straightened out.

And.... it was all the donations we made to the CFP fund at Newspring church. That's what pushed us into the top 4!
