Cool little joint in QC. Great Rosemary Truffle fries. Enjoy your day and be thankful for those that paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

I haven't heard about that. I'll go vomit on the place.

original owners group and they opened on East Blvd. It's supposed to be an upscale version of the original menu, maintains zero of the dive vibe of the original restaurant, and I would assume does not have the jukebox that helped make the place so great. The two original Penguin owners each started their own joints that are loosely based on the original...The Diamond in Plaza Midwood, and Pinky's on Morehead. Both of those places are far more authentic Penguin fare and both are worth eating at if you're in the area.

Going strong when I was still there and I agree completely.
As I recall, the owners of the original penguin building (around 2010?) refused to renew the two guys’ lease and basically tried to steal the restaurant concept from them. I was proud to see some instant karma inflicted upon them when people just boycotted the place en masse.

It was definitely a huge stink.

The family that owns the building never really got off the ground with reopening a faux-Penguin and ended up leasing it to an Asian fusion place, and now I think has even changed into a Mexican place now. I never have much of a reason to go the extra couple of blocks and fight for a parking spot, so I'm not sure what's really there now.

No Beaver today. We have moved on to $20 drinks. This is a pretty cool place though. And believe it or not they have great lunch hamburgers.
