him to be.
The Native Americans in Atlanta have no problem with it: a white person in Houston held up a sign tonight saying it was racist. I might not know what the the answer is, but I do know that if you let sanctimonious people think up issues to be chased, somebody in Jr High today will soon be telling you how to run your job, based on standards he/she will invent.

owned slaves but co authored the constitution of the Republic of Texas that codified slavery as the law of the land and served as its first president enforcing that law.
ESPN got anything to say about that? Sounds like selective wokism to me.

He's just placating after the All-Star Game ########

After Stacey Abrams strong-armed him into moving the All-Star Game to Colorado (who has just as tough, if not tougher voting laws than what was proposed in Georgia), he's just trying to make sure the Barves fans aren't mad at him all the time.

the truth is that being "offended" is a choice

nothing is offensive unless you choose to let it offend you.
That's why certain things are offensive to some, and others shrug their shoulders at it. Why does society try to label certain things as "offensive" to everyone when they are clearly not?
If you let a word offend you, well that's a "you" problem, not a "me" problem. I chuckle at the fake hysterics that some invent over hearing a word, or reading a 10 year old Tweet. C'mon, be an adult for once. Someone moving their arm is offensive to you? How mentally unstable are you?
Take the old music industry labeling, the Tipper Gore stuff back in the day. Lyrics offended her, but they didn't offend me, and millions of others. So why were they labeled offensive? What's the line for something to be offensive - one person or a million?
We let raving lunatics run society, and cave to their every insane whim. Something that fake-offends a handful of people is made out to be something horrific and thereby BANNED from the Earth. The fact that we allow that - that's OUR fault.
There are very few things that are truly offensive, that 100% (well, 99.5%) of humanity would agree upon. The Nazi Holocaust. The killing of dogs & small animals for fun. Child abuse. Cannibalism. The sex slave industry. Murder of unborn babies (whoops, many completely OK with that). But point is, there's REAL horror out there to be offended by.
Mean words and silly sports antics "offend" you? Yeah, right. Get a grip.

You spent paragraphs

saying things are offensive only on an individual basis.
Then one paragraph saying, except for these things.
You disagree with the people you are criticizing on nothing except where that line is.

In what way?
Oct 27, 2021, 11:05 AM

Just now on Twitter, I saw someone say "everyone knows the chop is racist". So that person put the "chop" in the same category as scooter put "cannibalism".
They presented the offensive nature as inarguable, therefore something should be done about it. Scooter did the same thing, just on a different subset of issues.

I would say some things are inarguably offensive

Things like mass murder, etc. To use modern terminology, the "chop" being racist is simply a societal construct...Most of us are biologically predisposed to being averse to the mass slaughter of our own species.

I agree with your opinion

Just pointing out that it is a matter of opinion, and it is a subjective spectrum.
I agree with everything scooter and you are saying, except the apparent disdain (that's more in scooter's post than yours). If someone else is offended by something I'm doing, then I would rather think of them how I would want to be thought of if I was offended by one of these things that offends me. Because it's the same thing.
